  1. Pearson graduated, but we’ve got some Ensley kid that’s okay ...
  2. That’s what happens when heavyweights go head to head Horse. Saw a lot of good sportsmanship from both squads tonight. What a battle. Huntingdon is e x p l o s i v e !
  3. Should be a good game. In the grand scheme of things this game means nothing. We both underachieved in our Class last year after much was said about this game. Hoping it will be another battle between the Stangs and Tigers and both teams can go away injury free and battle tested. Good luck to both teams. No matter the winner, I hope nothing more than to see both teams represent in Cookeville.
  4. Excited for what should be a great ballgame on the magic carpet. Waverly, in my opinion, has the slight edge this year with the big senior led team and leadership in key positions. You will not find a better QB/RB/WR tandem anywhere. Huntingdon with a big, talented Junior class, will look to pound the ball once again, but has more homerun hitting ability than last year. If you are in the area, I would advise not to miss this game, which could very well be a last position type of game. My prediction will be: Wavo - 39 Hunt - 42
  5. I haven't looked much at this thread so I may have already missed it, but does anyone have an online stream for the game yet? Good luck to both teams!
  6. What an outstanding football game from beginning to finish! Hats off to both teams. What an environment last night! Cornersville just simply made more plays than we did. Good luck to you guys all the way
  7. My prediction is that this will be a hard fought game to be decided late in the 4th! However, don't mistake the Stangs toughness b/c of all the speed and athleticism; they would rather hit you in the mouth than run around you. Hope for an injury free game and one that both fans can go home proud of.
  8. Congrats to Mr. Kade Pearson! A tremendous kid on and off the field. Going to be strange not seeing him on the field next year. Kind of like not seeing Tebow on the Gators after he was there for so long! Good luck and play hard this week Stangs
  9. Could very well be the two best teams in 1A this year. Cornersville looks like a really good team on film. I'm excited about seeing a good matchup!
  10. #8 Willis, to me is a difference maker on all sides of the ball for Huntingdon. Brings a certain energy and attitude that seems to affect the entire team
  11. 8 didn't play last year. You must be referring to Mebane. He is now #3
  12. I agree.. Huntingdon fans have been pretty cocky coming up on this game the past couple of years, and you see how far that got em. Injured, graduated big class, etc doesnt matter. Wayne County will bring a bus load of kids that simply know how to play football. Hoping to see a good Round 1 game tomorrow against two very good teams. Good luck to both and stay injury free!
  13. Some have already been mentioned, but the best I've seen play are: Nick Dunlap - Milan Adrian Jamison - Bruceton Boo Weathers - Huntingdon Jerrod King - Bruceton Kelcey Williams - Humboldt (the best I've seen. Period) Earnest Williams - Crockett County Mario McElrath - Union City Rafael Hill - Westview Nick Hampton - Westview
  14. WC will be just fine. WC always seem to play their best when everyone doubts them the most. Don't know why some (mostly us Huntingdon folk) are talking down on them when they have hit us in the mouth the past 2 years and made us like it. I, as a Huntingdon supporter, want WC at their best. Hope your kids get healed up and get on a roll in the ladder part of the season.. just not next week
  15. Waverly wins by 2-3 scores. Taking nothing away from a Riverside team, but Wavo is the real deal
  16. Sounds like you need to start a middle school football forum lol
  17. Those East/Middle TN press members should watch the Huntingdon-Waverly & Huntingdon-Milan games sometime
  18. Not arguing with you, even though it may come across that way! Your are right though, I also watch football to see football as well. Last thing I'll say in this thread is that people forget that Kaepernick switched from sitting on the bench to kneeling after talking to a teammate with ties to the military. They came to the consensus that kneeling was a good way to protest the injustice while still honoring the men and women who are serving and have served for this country. The flag represents more than just the military, as Bob Costas explained last night. It represents the rights, values, and systems of the country. I love this Country!!
  19. The President calling peaceful, law-abiding US citizens who are exercising their Constitutional rights "sons of *******" and calling for their firing -- attacking people for using a right HE SWORE he would protect -- is a greater disgrace to the flag and a more powerful threat to the foundation of our Democracy than sitting for any song or failing to salute any piece of cloth could ever be.
  20. Probably the hardest reality after the election is that a good portion of Americans are rapidly moving away from racism, but another solid chunk refuses to even acknowledge it as a problem. One of the pillars of Trump's campaign, if not the pillar, was racism. His racist crusade to push Obama as non-American was his first foray into politics, and he's kept that tone to today. Trump was elected because around 25% of America is either racist or willing to enable racism. That breaks my heart. If only there were a hundred more important things going on right now that the POTUS needs to give his attention to... Oh wait.
  21. I agree 100% on personnel. You've got to incorporate all of the athletes you have on the field at once. #8 & #20 were never on the field at the same time that I'm aware of, offensively. They aren't the only ones by any means. #1 and #12 are others that stand out. Way too predictable. On a side note, I think Willis #8 for Huntingdon is special. That kid is always around the ball making plays.
