I would say that Upperman wanted to schedule the best out of the 4 and scheduled BC

They beat Bradley by 20 earlier this year so they can beat anyone. Meigs played them twice last year both games went to OT. They were good then and I’m sure they are better this year because they returned everyone. Meigs returned all 5 starters this year has well. I think Upperman and Meigs will advance to Murfreesboro from region 3 and 4 IMO

It was about the same. Meigs 72 Kingston 25. I have no clue how York only beat Kingston by 10 the first time.

Meigs is looking really good right now, and if they can ovoid any upset and host substate, I think they will be favored over any team except Upperman. They just have to take care of business.

Should be a good district tournament.

Meigs County had some good ones back in the day. Rachel Powell and Pam Irwin both went on to play at Georgia.

6AAA is hard to figure out. Cookeville has two good wins over Stone and WC but then struggles to beat Knox Catholic twice.

I know that. I was Just saying though are the 4 best teams in 2A in the east. Meigs has to go through Upperman or Macon for the last few years.

The scoreboard says that Powell lost by 14 to a 4 win Knox Central team tonight. Do you think that’s right?

They lost to McMinn Central and they lost to Bradley by 40. You guys should have no problem. Definitely not the first round. Bradley and Cleveland are the top two, the rest of the district is way down. Is this the year for your region to host? If so the way I understand it, is the higher seed host all the way through. Winning the district is more important this year than ever.

Looks like Cookeville could challenge Bradley this year. But Cookeville should beat Knox Catholic by 30 because the are not very good.

I would probably go with Grainger, but I think people are under estimating Alcoa. Northview beat Alcoa by 1 and Grainger beat them by 8 I think. I would go 1. Grainger 2. Meigs 3. Northview 4. Alcoa. I think those are the 4 best teams in 2A in the east by far.

I think this year the higher seed host all the way through district and region. So if Meigs can win the the regular season and district tournament they will play at home.

Did you see the Meigs/Upperman games last year? And if so and if Meigs can win the region, can Meigs get over the hump and win a substate game at home? Meigs has played in 4 straight substate games only to fall short. South Greene state champ. Upperman state champ Macon Upperman

And they did. The game was never close. Meigs 62 Central 41 I think they will play 3 more times, and the winner of the region will have a chance but the loser will have a big hill to climb.

The first game is tomorrow night, I believe they will play each other 4 times this year. Central looks much improved this year. Meigs is still good but has struggled some, still looking for some players to step up on the bench. Should be a good one.

Yes that’s why I posted that. I saw the York, Kingston score, so I was surprised that they beat Macon. But they provide that first game was a fluke. Do you think York will take runner up behind Upperman?

The first game most have been a fluke.

To be honest the two times I’ve seen Bradley play this year, I thought that they were not as good as usual. They are still a good 3A team but definitely down compared to the last few years. And I say that with a lot of respect for there program.

I was surprised by the score. York beat a good Macon team but barely beat a bad Kingston team.

1. Bearden already beat Maryville. 2. Maryville lost to Bearden and beat Farragut. 3. Farragut lost to Bearden and Maryville all three teams are still good and should be some good games coming up.
