  1. Kevin Ward would win big in his first year at Milan. He is from Milan and has won at Camden and Crocket, neither of which are as loaded with players like Milan. The next hire needs to have some understanding of the Milan history.
  2. Who is going to be the Head Coach at Columbia next year?
  3. Surely CPA doesn't have more athletes than Lipscomb. I thought DL had more than Oakland so if CPA don't this won't be close. I say 35-21 Oakland.
  4. I think that this will be a close game
  5. That was a great game and both teams played very hard. I was amazed that the talent level of IMG (by way of Lipscomb) Academy was actually all around better than Oakland. I've seen Lipscomb's Freshmen team play for several years and most of those guys wasn't on those teams. But it does not matter to me how many out of state players DL had because I went to see two good football teams play and that's what I saw. The better coached team won as was evident by the way they overcame all the adversity to pull out the win.
  6. I ended up watching Mt Pleasant and Loretto and was really impressed with MP. They are very athletic as always, but seem to be a lot more organized that in the past. They may only get better as the second half of the year start. Might even be the shocker of the playoffs. Oh and Lorretto looked pretty good as well just didn't have enough in the tank for MP.
  7. What is the status of the game? Trying to decide which rainout I will attend.
  8. So you think that all teams schedule should be powerhouses and none of a lower classification?
  9. Do they have the horses to keep up with Oakland...NO
  10. Parsons RS by in a low scoring defensive game
  11. Just to be clear. The TSSAA has a separate hospitality tent that is much better than the tent that is sponsored by the Tennessee Athletic Coaches Association.
  12. It's not about that anymore. I didn't always agree with Ronnie Carter, but at least he had a backbone that would keep everything on an even keel.
  13. For what it is worth the TSSAA and its actions are for sale to the highest bidder for personal benefit by those in control. How many rooms that the higher ups get that run the TSSAA so they can spend a free weekend should not be a deciding factor in where the football championships are held. Neither should the free (for legislative and board of controls and family only) hospitality tent and free food for the weekend. Oh, and did I mention the free “special” Parking and expensive gifts bags for the TSSAA hierarchy receives? If the objective was to make this a positive event for the benefit of its MEMBERs, then the event would be held in Middle Tn. That way the people from West Tennessee would be able to attend without an unmanageable burden. Go to a meeting (IF THEY OPEN IT UP TO THE MEMBERS cause sometimes, they do not) and pay attention to how private school supporter and TSSAA attorney (puppet master) Rick Colbert makes every major TSSAA decision with a whisper in Barnard’s ear. He decided that private schools should have more representation on the legislative council and board of controls by percentage more than their actual member % because "there could be a lawsuit." He decided that the championship should be move further away from our West TN teams because “there could be a lawsuit.” Make no bones about it the TSSAA has become an elitist organization that has very little to do with what is best for our kids. Wake up folks and ask the hard questions and I promise you that you will get stonewalled and dismissed!!! This may be my last post because I may end up beside Jimmy Hofa and lost forever.
  14. The difference in the "old days" and now is the training and quality of coaching. In the 70's and before not every team even had an off season weight program that compares to today. And the breakdowns and game prep far exceeds the past. In fact there was a time when many teams allowed the QB to call plays. Not that there were not great players and teams yesteryear, but the game and prep has evolved. Those 70 teams could not compete with today teams. They were smaller, weaker and underdeveloped.
  15. I'm afraid that this will not be close and Oakland will win going away.
  16. That's great! I truly believe (like most) that the line on both sides of the ball is where games are won.
  17. You are probably right. CW has been on the upswing, but speed kills and I'm sure that Lexington has plenty
  18. Picking More County then the Huntington coach leaves at the end of the year.
  19. Don't sleep on Creekwood with all the Dickson players that they have it could be a good one.
  20. I have seen MJ and I have seen Oakland this year. This game will be a sleeper by halftime. I watch the MJ, Oakland game last year and thought this could be a good one with all the players returning, but MJ is not the same team.
  21. I think that Stewart County has a real chance. If Giles doesn't pick it up they could be at home next week. I think that most outsiders, like me, are pulling for Stewart
  22. Looking at the schedules, don't you think that Forest is better than Gibson Co.? Or even 20 points better than Hickman County? This may be an upset in the making.
