  1. Which 1A school is immune to not losing a coach for more money/talent?
  2. I never thought I’d see the day where I defended the TSSAA. Lord knows I’ve disagreed with a lot of decisions which have been made; however, put yourself in their shoes. Two cities submitted a bid (Chattanooga and Cookeville). For everyone who disagrees with the location, do you think TSSAA should’ve called Nashville and said “Hey, guess what guys! Even though y’all didn’t place a bid and showed no desire to host these games, y’all won! We’re playing there. See y’all then!” Im not happy about the games being in Chattanooga. I was irate when they went to Cookeville 12 years ago. Ridiculous. But the anger should be placed squarely on the shoulders of the leaders in Nashville and Murfreesboro, not TSSAA. Blast the mayors, city counsel, etc of those areas. TSSAA had absolutely no choice other than those 2 options.
  3. I’m glad you asked. I’ve been interested in this thread, but I’ve struggled with all of the initials. Everyone seems to be talking in code, and I thought I was the only person who didn’t know lol
  4. Hypothetically...Crockett gets 2 kids from North Side (North Side’s best players, both with Div 1 offers BEFORE transferring, and a kid from Mississippi). You think, wow! Stroke of luck. Awesome, good for them! 6 weeks after the transfer they’re on social media...Made in Alamo (although they’ve never played a game at Crockett Co). 12 months later, 2 more kids transfer from North Side. Rural West TN football doesn’t usually see this. You see this in urban areas all the time (hence the Alcoa reference which ruffled feathers). No chance I think Ward would recruit kids (nor do I think new Milan coach is). I’d just not be as excited about Crockett County (with some North Side) vs Haywood County. I digress. To each his own. Honestly, I regret posting. I’ll climb back in my hole now...
  5. I feel like my point is clear. Perhaps you don’t agree (understandable), but I doubt you misunderstood, BPM. I’ve read your posts for a long time. You’re an intelligent person. If the people in Milan are happy with several transfers playing there and branding “Made in Milan”, that’s all that matters.
  6. I’m not insulted by an insult from a no-face poster; I really don’t get insulted period. And no, it wasn’t directed at you BPM. By saying “they’ll find a way to make it legal,” the implication there is that they’re not cheating - not the opposite as you took it. I’ve made my point. I expect others to disagree, which is fine.
  7. I completely understand if you disagree, but the personal insults are unnecessary. It’s what’s wrong with us as a society, including in-person or behind anonymous screen names.
  8. When several kids transfer into a rural school, it’s curious, but perhaps coincidental. A kid moves into the school zone, then he’s legal. I 100% believe that Milan would not break rules, just as I think Alcoa is 100% clean. Last year, with multiple transfers under a new coach, it appeared to be an anomaly. Add 2 more already this year, and it’s a pattern. I hope I’m wrong about the 2 this year, but I really don’t think I am. And if I’m right, I will not believe Milan is cheating. It just means they’ll have several players with “Milan” on their jersey and they are not from there.
  9. Let me attempt to articulate my point more clearly. About 30 years ago, college football programs began recruiting nationwide, rather than their own state. Alabama fans are very proud that they won another national title, yet less than 25% of their roster played high school ball in Alabama. It’s a trickle down from the pros, who have never had guys from their area as a part of their franchise. Here’s a very unique opinion. I wish colleges could only have 10-15% of their roster as out-of-state guys. Then when these guys have “Alabama” or “Tennessee” on their jerseys, that’s where they’re actually from. Without doing this, it’s pro sports. Now this is trickling to high school. I understand I’m old school and very much in the minority on this, but I love rural football. Guys are playing for their towns, their communities. It’s not going to happen in urban areas, and that’s understandable. I was not intentionally taking a shot at anyone. I just don’t want to see Milan, Crockett, Haywood, Lexington, etc do what the urban schools do.
  10. I enjoy talking ball. I’ve never seen you post anything other than silliness like this.
  11. Fair enough. As with your source, I’m as confident in mine. I hope I’m the one who is wrong. Rural West TN epitomizes what’s great about high school ball. Towns vs towns, communities vs communities. I wish every school in 3A would do what Milan did and go 4A - literally leaving no one for Alcoa to play. I look forward to the new 4A region with the big communities battling, BUT ONLY IF my information is wrong. If they did get more kids from Liberty, they’re no different than the Alcoa’s of the world (who also get kids in legally).
  12. 1. Milan got 2 more transfers from Liberty yesterday. You can call and confirm. And I agree that they’ll find a way to make it legal. Being legal and having integrity are 2 different things. Milan is selling out and I hate to see it. 2. Their attorney responded to TSSAA. I can’t prove that and you can’t prove they didn’t, so we’ll agree to disagree. I don’t post much, but when I do, it’s accurate.
  13. I’m hearing Milan got two more Liberty players today. I’ve been a Milan fan from afar for many years. Solid rural program that’s built a reputation with tough kids. After several transfers last year, TSSAA investigation, Milan hiring an attorney, I was disappointed. Now, they’re no different than Oakland and other schools around here. I’m not questioning the legality of these moves (I think 6 kids total in less than 12 months), I’m sure they found a way to make it legal. I’m questioning the ethics. Milan has always been above this.
  14. I would’ve put Gleason a little higher lol. I would pay money to watch you and General talk ball.
  15. Peabody 2021. Bold prediction. Jacobs will bolt for a bigger job. He is not a 1A-2A coach. I think most said the first 2 titles were because of talent. I think a lot of administrators will recognize #3 was coaching. If he’s still there in 2 months, it won’t be due to a lack of offers. Trenton better do everything they can to keep him and that entire staff.
  16. I went to this game with a buddy who coached for a long time. Before Peabody kicked the onsides, he predicted it. Then it happened! Like Swo, I didn’t think it was a good move. My buddy said if Union City would just play the game and quit kicking onside kicks, Peabody would sub and play the game straight up. I actually agree with him and understand why the coach did it. He wasn’t running the score up. He was trying to end the game, get his starters out. Union City made it difficult because they kept kicking onside kicks. I now agree with the decision. For Union City, if you feel the game was over, then you need to quit kicking onside kicks too.
  17. I was at that game. Final score was 35-21. Defense gave up 14. Waverly had a scoop and score TD.
  18. I’m out of the loop in McKenzie since my youngest graduated. Haven’t seen or heard from Butchie in years. Big Purple, you have a great day as well. Now everyone can proceed to football talk and I’ll continue to be a silent spectator.
  19. Not talking about nor disagreeing with Coach T rules. You attacked Bass and created some fake persona of “I don’t like profanity.” In the same breath, you made personal attacks on me... troll, stupid, etc. I did come out of nowhere and I’ll do it again. You would not leave it alone with Bass. Kept on and on. Talk football. You’re not changing my mind on this.
  20. If **** is implying profanity, then your comment was implying I’m stupid. Same principle.
  21. That’s where you called me stupid. As for my team, my boy graduated from McKenzie a few years ago. I used to post plenty but choose not to anymore because I really have no dog in the fight anymore. I enjoy watching good football all around West Tenn now. I also enjoy these forums. Just don’t care for someone pretending to be something they’re not. I’m finished when Big Purple is finished.
  22. Call me a troll. Make fun of me by saying I live in my Mom’s basement. Call me stupid... You did all of those things but get on a high horse about profanity. Seems a little disingenuous. Im not a troll. I read these threads daily but became irritated when you went on and on and on about some *****. Get over it. If you’ll talk football, I’ll continue reading and not posting. If you want to continue to play your more holy-than-thou card while hurling insults at strangers, I’ll continue “trolling” to let you know you’re a hypocrite.
