  1. Yup. Maybe it just means more here. Tradition is a powerful thing…and keeping it alive is the drive that makes them play hard.
  2. I typed my response before I read that clearly…but that makes what I saw on YouTube make that much more sense.
  3. You guys know that Howard only scored 6 against Cleveland… I watched the game on YouTube. Howard’s coach sat on the bench and made no effort to even coach his girls. I wanted to go to the gym and try to help coach them it was so bad. The Bearettes took the floor to play a game. The object of the game is to score, and keep the other team from scoring. That obviously happened the other night…for one of the teams. What do you propose be done??? Stand in the corner with the ball for 3 quarters and not move? The starters were basically penalized for being “good” and the team as a whole certainly wasn’t challenged. Howard’s cheerleaders were more athletic and energetic than the players that were on the floor.
  4. That’s a big compliment. Looking forward to seeing what happens moving forward. Good luck to you guys too.
  5. That black court is beautiful!!! I miss it.
  6. For clarification it’s Howard HS not Brainerd.
  7. We all know what opinions are like...
  8. Some of us are just old enough to remember when the T was dominant. That’s where the passion comes from... Unfortunately the T hasn’t been that dominant in their lifetime so it’s just not as special to them. I get it. It falls on the T for not being able to lure talent.
  9. Warlick is the one that ignored Rhyne. My brain fails me but I think Madison had a UT offer. (Feel free to correct if I’m wrong).
  10. I’m still Bearette through and through but those are the teams in our district that I respect. My previous post was just to make that know. I still expect the Bearettes to roll!!
  11. I may be way wrong but don't shortchange McMinn and Cleveland moving forward.
  12. That’s a fact! I loved to see her temper tantrum’s in defeat.
  13. That question is somewhat relative. If it was a year or two then you could say it was talent based. But he has been consistent for many years. I think that talent is partially to blame, but player development through him is what makes it happen. It’s a culture that he instills in his players, and when they buy into it and follow his direction they get success. I’ve seen first hand how they develop and what they become. It’s not every day you have a Rhyne Howard on your floor. Players like that are few and far (FAR) between. But it’s what he does with the others that I believe makes him elite. I can say that my daughter has definitely benefited from him over the last (4) years. So to answer that question I believe he could make another school good. If you really want to get down to it look at what he’s up against. Tony draws half of the talent in the county to Cleveland.
  14. I got to talk to him before our game at EH this year and really liked him. Seemed to be a good guy. Prior to that conversation I really didn’t care for him too much (bad on my part) but that was based on some of his players and their attitudes. Hate to see him step down.
  15. I really don’t see anyone other than Bradley, Cleveland, and McMinn competing next year. I’m obviously biased but trying to be realistic. The non mentioned teams don’t stand a chance unless they get some major transfers in.
  16. I’m going to have to say it again. Jason Reuter at Bradley is pretty impressive. We were 123-10 during our most recent 4 years at Bradley. Never lost a district game, never lost a district tournament game, never lost a region tournament game, went to the state tournament (4) years in a row, and won a state championship. There are a lot of good coaches in this state, but I wouldn’t trade Reuter for any of them.
  17. No doubt. Aaron is a good dude and a good coach. He will do all he can.
  18. I’m sure it’s just coincidence... (sarcasm)
  19. Tough loss. Shots weren’t falling. Grant played out of his head. Have always liked/respected his drive. Hate it’s over for them too.
  20. Lol. We parents have our own problems. Can’t do much for him I don’t think!
  21. I agree. Hard to complain about the last 4 years...I just wasn’t ready for it to be over at Bradley. But that’s how it goes!
  22. He’s not the only one. I’m still not right 3 days later.
  23. The ones in our game just baffled me. Mias call on Porter late in the 4th was the same type D she had played all game. The call on Muhonen for her 5th was so late that she’d already cleared the rebound before the whistle ever happened. I’m sure you saw some too from your players on your side. Just frustrating. But, like I said the other day make more shots and it doesn’t matter what the officials do. Y’all shot better tonight but 24 and 26% in our game...it’s a wonder anyone won.
