Only two of Wayne's Co., Richland, Moore Co and McKenzie can make it to state. Wayne Co is the favorite and the other 3 are good but not great. McKenzie does have the best player in The state in 1A and that can take you a ways but the supporting cast will have to step up for them to make it. Moore Co is very capable of beating any of these teams.

Out of curiosity what if a team is up 50 to start the 4th quarter and the winning team has all the 3rd string in, do you tell them to stall for the whole quarter? I have seen games where the winning team plays no defense and just lets the losing team score and I find that embarrassing for the losing team as well.

Rivalry games are a different game for sure. McKenzie beat Huntingdon tonight by 15. Fillies won the first game by 10. Hats off to McKenzie they hit 15 3’s and Fillies couldn’t throw it in the ocean and made some uncharacteristic mistakes. I think Fillies may have been a little overconfident in this one. Davis was great tonight as usual for McKenzie. They had 4 players in double figures I heard also.

That seems like a really big win for Wayne Co. Over Summertown tonight. I have to think Wayne Co is the favorite in 1A. Sounds like Summertown is tough this year also. Moore County played a really good Loretto team tough tonight also.

I have a ton of respect for Southside but I am assuming they had some players out when Huntingdon played them at thanksgiving. We have played South Gibson twice and even with the two starters out South Gibson looked better than Southside.

1A is as weak as I have seen it in a long time. I have seen Wayne Co, McKenzie, Greenfield, South Fulton and Moore County play. Wayne Co would be the favorite with McKenzie and Moore Co a toss up game. South Fulton just below those two. Greenfield is not very good even when healthy. Normally I wouldnt think two players could win the state but since 1A is weak I would say Mckenzie has a good shot. Davis is as good as I have seen come through West TN. I believe only two of Wayne Co, Mck and Moore County can get to the state since they go through each other.

Not sayings it’s true but that’s the reputation they have. Gibson County may be ranked #1 but I would place McMinn, York and Gatlinburg Pitt 1, 2, 3 right now with Gibson County behind them. AA in the state of Tennessee is the strongest class in the state in my opinion. It is loaded

Does Westview avoid playing tough teams in the regular season in West Tennessee? I hear that often from fans and I have heard from other coaches as well. I don’t have any true info on that but that is the reputation they have. I was surprised South Gibson beat them tonight.

Yes very competitive game! Fillies did lead most of the game and if they limit turnovers they win tonight. This is a very good Dyersburg team and a great place to watch a game. Yes I agree this was a good matchup and should help both teams in the long run.

Yes I agree the next 3/4 years Huntingdon will be good. Huntingdon is always in the mix, very consistent program. Not sure I have ever seen Huntingdon fall off a cliff. That’s the great thing about combining classes if one class isn’t that strong another usually makes up for them. I feel good about the future.

Huntingdon will be the favorite in Region 6 2A which makes them one of the favorites again in state. I know, they haven’t gotten it done, but the talent will be around for the next several years so yes they will be in the mix as usual.

I think McKenzie has one more shot to get it done. They lose several key players and depth will be the real issue for them. But they do return in my opinion the Mr. Football favorite in Surber and several key lineman.

What little I know I would expect in the west for Moore County and Dresden to take a step back. Lake County will be better. Union City and McKenzie could be the favorites in the west. I think the west will be down a little in 1A next season.

I understand your position on Huntingdon but they are bound to break through soon lol. They will definitely be a top 5 team next season. They lost a good senior group but have a really good junior class and lots of talented underclassman. Mustangs aren’t going anywhere, they will be in the mix for years to come. Milan lost a lot of talented players. I would have Trenton pretty high on my list next season. I
