  2. The program allows athletes and only athletes to take online classes so that their time on campus can be spent on strength and conditioning and preparing them to excel in college athletics.
  3. I don't think his resignation had anything to do with Deuce. If that had been the case he would have resigned after Deuce left. He resigned after an unacceptable losing season and no set plan on how to improve.
  4. Technically they don't have to graduate early. They can continue to complete their high school work while taking a minimal course load at UT (or wherever they are enrolling early).
  5. Answers coming in. Not a lot of TSSAA experience but some coaches with quality backgrounds.
  6. The minute one school in Middle TN tries to build a real boarding school model at least one other would have to follow suit. It would tip the balance of power too greatly with only one - especially at the AAA enrollment. Lipscomb is trying the IMG thing with their Endeavor program but without access to more dorms it can't be as large. Webb BB is only large enough to sustain dominant smaller sports programs. And frankly there are a lot of parents in Middle TN who want their kids to play and not be pushed to the bench by someone transferring in. As long as they are still calling some shots, they're happy to be the best in Middle TN. Where have you gone Deuce Knight?
  7. Very interesting way to look at it. So, since the end of the season in Nashville, you have BA, BGA, DCA, Ensworth, Goodpasture, and Lipscomb making changes. No one promoted anyone from their Fall 2023 staffs (yet). Teddy Bridgewater will be available after the NFL season presumably https://sports.yahoo.com/teddy-bridgewater-plans-retire-2023-201653900.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAJk6az7ref5-O3-cAJK_SSTSHc-cgYK78z_Zs93i4LvngGEutiCnHj_TUmAUVvUmsCG-jiw0LYOAcngek0TNy1HHHwNlP5pdLW1hbLzxJpRqMtQ7-teltU9SMxxiLLzZOqesmfeb9Ws1krHaMkk3l3uTbLhjssXLxk3cKdnapf-5#:~:text=It's always nice to see,Teddy Bridgewater intends to do.
  8. And some cakes are definitely better than others.
  9. I know this is a Grace Christian post but mindful that some Knoxville people may be following it, what is Knoxville Catholic doing with their coaching situation? Weren't they the ones who needed a quick fix over the summer and went with co-coaches?
  10. That would be a strong hire. He got a lot out of kids that were at FRA before he got there. He also had the support of the Admin which will be key for BA (and any other school obviously).

  12. I noticed that too. "...we will get it right..." and "...what they have done to the place."
  13. Not the game to give Ty Clark only 18 carries unless that ankle was hurt worse than people thought.
  14. FRA is an excellent team. Their only flaw IMO is the QB's ability to go deep consistently. They could pick on lesser opponents in the region but in the first game vs. CPA the defensive backs got the best of him. They have the O line and ball carriers to run the ball and control the clock but have to play perfectly and call plays perfectly to win. In the other game, DA's defense has to be dominant for 4 quarters. A couple of times this season they let teams get some momentum (Lausanne included) and they can't afford to let BB do that this week. We've been fortunate to get CPA vs FRA twice this season and if we get CPA vs BB in the final I think those are the top 3 teams.
  15. Agreed. McCallie won that game and deserved to win that game. It wasn't close after the first drives by each team IMO.
  16. That's right. No one. So not a valid possibility like you suggested. What I saw was him clearly making it obvious to the officials the second time around. So your point about McCallie not doing this before is to suggest it was specific to an issue with BA? And because of the head hunting on the kick off? BA wasn't getting the ball back enough in the last 1:50 to score 33 points or kick onside kicks. But ok.
  17. It is worse. The botch call was human error. Running up the score is a character flaw.
  18. Who "peters" on a kick off? That was a missed call by the refs. The only thing worse was McCallie throwing it to the end zone with less than 2 mins to play and already up 30. Maybe they win a gold ball but not a lot of God glorifying going on there last Friday night.
  19. This will come as no surprise but I am pretty sure that as a result of the agreement between the TSSAA and NFHS, schools are not supposed to use any other streaming service. (So they may not be advertising their own livestream.)
  20. Something important you are missing is the probation they were put on this past Spring for using an Athlete in a social media post about their Endeavor program. It put the entire Athletic program on probation for a year. So, while I feel sorry for the seniors and juniors who won't be able to play in the playoffs this year and next, they and their families knew that one slip up by the school, the coaches, whomever, would land the school and the program in hotter water than usual. Not a reason to leave but certainly a reason to be very unhappy with the athletic department and football coaches who had to know that the family members had not officially moved here from Mississippi. Likewise, the assistant coach knew that he had sent texts that could harm the program and seemingly would have sent them while already on probation. If the school had come forward in September and made the TSSAA aware of the infractions themselves, I wonder if they would have just been able to forfeit the win and dismiss the coach.
  21. They could end up playing a team they've beaten (Christian Bros) and then a team they lost to by a touchdown. Hope the players have more confidence than some of you on here.
  22. From MBA's website: Graduating class - 142.
  23. Unfortunately in D2AA the 1 and 2 seeds from the Middle region will play each other in the semis so only one of these teams is making the finals if the seeding holds.
  24. Some insights. Some thoughts A study in WillCo 10 yrs ago predicted that 1/2 of the population growth would be among people past the point of having school-aged children. Joe Williams just did a piece in the Williamson Herald about Franklin's challenges as a result of rezoning years ago. Some moving to WillCo from Southern CA don't seem to be previously enrolled at Mater Dei or St John Bosco. Football doesn't seem to be the motivation for their move. To the credit of Coach Martin at CPA I think the stability of the program goes a long way - especially at a time with ridiculous transfer numbers. And some of the transfers have been from Nashville school to Nashville school. If a kid can't start at one school, he moves to another where he can start. Doesn't mean the talent pool in Nashville is getting better. Frankly it feels more competitive across the board. You probably know who's going to win but you have to remember that these are kids and stuff happens. Lastly, it was 5-6 yrs ago that the national media was talking a lot about athletic related concussions. Are there fewer good athletes playing football these days as a result of parents not letting them play when they were in 6th-7th grade? I don't know but it's a possibility.
