Safe travels up the road to UT-Martin this coming Friday. It should be a very competitive game (Round 2: Trojans & Chargers). I'm taking WV at home on this one...naturally, but I know that Dyersburg is good and dangerous.

3rd quarter shortened to 8 minute quarters....Reserves playing for WV the rest of the way. Keep that clock moving and run that ball.

Not yet half....but will be soon. Maybe they'll let the clock run through halftime.

Always glad when someone gets up after being injured, but the 2nd one going down that time to the turf was "actually" funny. He was just following orders, but he's not a good actor and very obvious. We were laughing because I don't think he saw the other young man who was down and tried to act like he was falling down in a very methodical way.

Must be talking about that drama class act of going down late in the game. The assistant was telling one of the defenders to go down near the sideline, and another one about 30 yards away thought the coach was talking to him and went down in slow motion. It's sad this college crap has crept into the high school level.

I think Covington and Westview both have very good defenses. I just think we witnessed 2 of the best offenses in the State that are extremely hard to defend in their own right (running & passing). If the Covington QB doesn't get his feet tangled with the linemen, it might of came down to the last team with possession of the ball. Very wild game, but I watched a lot of mutual respect as the game went on between the players on the field helping each other up, and especially between the fan bases. Should be a great part 2 in a few weeks & another packed house. I believe the radio said somewhere over 6K attended the game. That's the most fans I've ever seen in that stadium and I've been watching games in that stadium for years upon years.

3A.....Make that 43 TDs and 0 interceptions for Simpson for the season....and just threw for over 620 yards tonight against the #2 team in the State......as a Freshman. More TDs than incompletions this regular season. No one knows where he's leaning for college, but I hope Tennessee doesn't let him get out of this State.

Not sure on the official passing yards for WV's QB, but the radio said unofficial 620 yards and 8 TDs. Covington's run offense is almost impossible to stop, but WV's passing is equally pretty tough.

I've only seen Dresden once this year in the 1st game. Early in the season, I would've picked Greenfield by a couple of scores. This part in the season, I'm picking Dresden by 3 scores. Good turnaround for the Lions this season after their start. They started against some pretty good teams, but have definitely improved.

Good job Peabody of exposing/proving the TSSAA's inability to accurately classify schools. Your school did an honorable thing and most on here will appreciate it when the smoke clears and understands the blatant dishonesty of some school systems. Not a Peabody homer or fan, but respect the honesty. Way to bring it to the light.

Covington has an outstanding and extremely difficult running game to stop, but they won't win this game by 17-21. Covington is still the crown jewel of the Region, but I predict they'll have to pass a little more come Friday night with 11 defensive players within 7 yards of the scrimmage line. It should be a great game, and I'd take money they'll be 5000 plus in attendance for this regular-season finale. If WV gets up 14 points, it'll be hard for Covington to catch them with a ground game only. Should be a great game. I'll predict they'll be seeing each other again in a few weeks.

From a Westview fan's perspective, we'll be pulling for your team in the playoffs. Now I know why people in the area refer to y'all as the Stanks. We'll be pulling for all of the area teams to finish healthy, no matter how it turns out on the scoreboard. Sad that you have such a bad attitude and hatred towards a school.

Looks like a single wing with three options for the QB to hand it or take it himself. Based on their line and the way they moved the ball in the 1st half, WV will have their hands full stopping that ground game. Very impressive.

Covington pretty much running at will and the offensive line is dominating Haywood's defensive line. I picked Covington to win at home, but they're making it look pretty easy....so far.

I called Mckenzie and Milan beating Huntingdon this season in your games, and I missed the margin of victory for Huntingdon over JCM. Halls has had a great season and are well coached, but they're not UC's level yet. Come see this post after Friday night.

What if it's a blowout one way or the other??? In all honesty, WV doesn't give 2 rat's bedunkadunks if they're #3 or not even ranked in any polls or on coachT. At the end of the season, it all works itself out. Thanks BPM for doing what you're doing. Early in the season, I wasn't a big fan of this because it's a beauty pagent....but with that being said, you've been consistent and are pretty spot on week in and week out. I'll be at the Haywood/Covington game and look forward to the week 10 matchup between the Chargers (x2).

I believe this will be the game of the week in the State of Tennessee. Looking forward to watching 2 awesome programs go at it. If you want a good seat, people are going to have to get there early. Several great little places to eat too. I'm going with Covington and the upset at home.
