I agree with this and not only for this season, I think it always applies. Comparing how bad Munford beat a couple teams to how bad Springfield beat those same teams doesn't hold much weight to me. The playoffs are a different animal, you can usually throw that common opponent stuff out the window.

I think Oakland wins this game comfortably. Before the season started, I thought this might be a potential quarterfinal matchup instead of Round 2. Lebanon obviously has some talented players but I don’t think it will be enough to keep it competitive with the 2 time defending state champs

With Parson healthy they hung with Oakland for most of the game

I could definitely see either team winning this game and I don’t think it will be a rout either way. Whoever makes the fewest mistakes likely wins the game. I’ve seen SP fans saying that SP has hurt themselves a lot this year. I was at the Clay Co-Gville game last week and witnessed Gville do the same thing. 3 turnovers in the 3rd quarter played a huge part in the loss, as well as a couple of untimely penalties late in the game.

My guess is they’ll be right back in the semifinals against Oakland once again.

Yeah I’d say Gordonsville will be 2A in the next cycle. They were right on the edge of moving up this time

I do think this could be a close game but I don’t know about high scoring, I was kind of thinking it may be low scoring. Both of these defenses are very solid. I think Beech wins the game

Teams that can throw it with success at this level are usually pretty tough to stop.

What does SP’s offense look like this year? I’ve only managed to find a few highlights. I know the QB is very talented, but what does the run/pass ratio look like?

It was definitely a huge call at a crucial point in the game. Clay Co defense looked gassed at that point. But credit to them for coming up with a huge stop when they needed it. I would love to see a rematch as well, it was a great game.

I was told of a similar instance by a Clay Co player earlier this season. Apparently he was on his way into the end zone and turned back towards the defender and taunted him in some way, I think he waved at him. This drew an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty

I was curious about the unsportsmanlike penalty as I could not see what happened from my vantage point. On the final drive, I wasn’t crazy about the call to throw a wr screen pass on 2nd and 6 when Gville had been running the ball at will and Clay was totally gassed.
