  1. Have not seen any video which you speak of. McMinn is trying to make up stories in order to ignore their bad behavior during the game. There is a video of the McMinn coach giving the middle finger to Powell players during the game from his sideline. The video is on FB.
  2. How about that 46 yard field goal by Stooksbury? That was an awesome kick.
  3. Yep...I have been there this month. Powell's band will take up at least a third or more of the bleachers on the away side.
  4. Thoughts on the game? I think Powell's biggest problem of the night will be the lack of visitor bleachers.
  5. Each MAC team is allowed five out of zone exemptions having no more than two exemptions per grade level. You are correct in that those five exemptions do not have to live in Knox County. Other than those five, all members of the team must be sitting in a seat in the middle school, or they must show proof that they are zoned for that particular high school. There is a sibling clause built into it.
  6. Hilarious!!!! Pot calling the kettle black I see. Those "bulldogs" sure are not recruiting. You go right ahead and start calling out kids on the current Powell roster....waiting.
  7. Please fill us in on all these kids brought in "from all over" this past year. The only new kids on Powell's roster this year are the freshmen. Keefer followed the rules and sat out last year.
  8. I agree that it definitely is not the same AC team as last year. However, I do believe that Powell is underestimated by some this year. Many hate him, but Lowe does not make it as far as he does each year without being a good coach.
  9. Powell is also "a well coached team." Hence, the win against the defending state champions last Friday night.
  10. I do not know much about AC; however, being around the Powell program, I do think they are playing more as a team than in years past. It seems more about the team and less about individuals wanting to make it on the Twitter (X) feed. They definitely lost several key pieces, but many guys have stepped up. I definitely think they will surprise some people this year. i do know though that AC has an awesome program with some great talent. It should be a fun game to watch.
  11. Player did NOT play as an 8th grader on a varsity team. Player did get some varsity playing time as a freshman.
  12. Scenario: * Player goes to High School 1 and moves during his freshman year to High School 2's zone. *Principal at High School 1 allows player to remain at High School 1 for the remainder of the semester (rest of year.) *Player gets an approved transfer through Knox County Schools to stay at High School 1 for his sophomore year (even though he is now living in High School 2's zone). Question: Is that player still eligible to play considering he never left High School 1 and got the approval from Knox Co. schools? Thank you.
  13. What are the rules for a high school player to transfer from a public school to a private school without an address change? Public school is three miles from home. Private school is around nine miles from home address. Thank you.
  14. "Strong minds discuss ideas. Average minds discuss events. Weak minds discuss people." -Socrates
  15. Powell’s JV team only lost one game this year to Maryville. Powell will definitely miss the seniors, but I think they are going to be just fine.
  16. Completely disagree! I do not know anything about the other coach. I am sure he is great. However, Matt has done amazing things for Powell, and I love my son playing for him.
  17. I have heard that they are looking to possibly keep Catholic, Anderson Co, and Maryville on their schedule for next year.
  18. What about the addition of Lee Smith to the program? Do you see him moving up the coaching ranks with Catholic?
  19. I will give credit though...Oak Ridge did not have their best game against Powell. However, those Wildcats have looked mighty good as of late. Great job figuring things out and hoping to see you next week on Emory Road.
