  1. Awfully quiet over there in Dresden, but I did hear David Barker interviewed for this job. Not sure who the front runner is but I'd think he'd be towards the top of the pack.
  2. Chattanooga, Chattanooga, Chattanooga...sounds good, but don't count your chickens before they hatch! That last gold ball came in 2A, you guys gotta beat Dyersburg & Covington in your own region before you can make that trip to see Alcoa!
  3. McConnell & his offensive ways will have Westview firing on all cylinders offensively with the core of young talent they have there, great hire in that aspect. But I would like to know why leave after a year and come back? Oh well, hopefully they can play well enough on defense to compliment what they are doing offensively. If not, it will be another short stay or maybe the DC gets fired, who knows. But they are definitely expecting another gold ball over the next 4 years over there. Might have to drop back down to 2A for that though.
  4. A coach can do a lot of things, but they can't play the game. Got to mix that coach with some decent talent to avoid those mercy rules. Not saying Bolivar doesn't have any, they have plenty of talent walking around that school building, but have to convince them to play football!
  5. Big time hire for Lexington! Kevin Ward's name is always mentioned every time this job is open, but he always stays put. I'm sure plenty of coaches are beating down the door to get a shot at this job, but isn't Bobby Sharp still on staff over there? I would think with his resume he'd be the guy.
  6. Just go ahead and drop that Lauderdale County name, pretty sure it was already mentioned in this thread once before.
  7. He is in Greenfield for life now after his brief exit.
  8. Would Westview's old DC leave South Gibson for Westview? Everyone knows he wanted the job before they hired the last guy.
  9. This news that I'm hearing down the grapevine can't be true over in Weakley County. Jarod Neal out at Westview? Didn't believe it the first time I heard it, but I've heard it about 12 times since then so it must have some truth to it!
  10. This game was an instant classic the first time around and the second time around is sure to be the same. I'll give Dresden the edge since the contest will be taking place in the heart of Weakley County. I think it will be a little more than a FG to separate the two this time around, but like other have already said, this game will be won in the trenches! Lions 36 Tornadoes 28
  11. Dyer County has been quite a surprise to me this year, definitely didn't have them in the 3rd round back before the year started. All of the Haywood injuries are alarming, hopefully they will not have too big of an impact on this Friday's contest. Dyer County has to go into Haywood which is always a tough task. I think the Tomcats find a way to get it done, banged up or not! Tomcats 48 Choctaws 35
  12. So an HC and a DC of two different programs are on the sideline helping their old employer now that their teams are done playing? Don't think I've seen that before. That's definitely not legal.
  13. Never a bad job to take over a program with plenty of athletes, but if those athletes couldn't get you one win against that schedule, sounds like bigger issues going on within. Best of luck to the next guy that to lead the Vikings!
  14. Simpson 2 still got some growing to do before he's ready to compete on this level. Going to have a better supporting cast than his brother did tho.
  15. Union City takes care of things on their end and gets us all the rematch we want!
