  1. Awfully quiet over there in Dresden, but I did hear David Barker interviewed for this job. Not sure who the front runner is but I'd think he'd be towards the top of the pack.
  2. Chattanooga, Chattanooga, Chattanooga...sounds good, but don't count your chickens before they hatch! That last gold ball came in 2A, you guys gotta beat Dyersburg & Covington in your own region before you can make that trip to see Alcoa!
  3. McConnell & his offensive ways will have Westview firing on all cylinders offensively with the core of young talent they have there, great hire in that aspect. But I would like to know why leave after a year and come back? Oh well, hopefully they can play well enough on defense to compliment what they are doing offensively. If not, it will be another short stay or maybe the DC gets fired, who knows. But they are definitely expecting another gold ball over the next 4 years over there. Might have to drop back down to 2A for that though.
  4. A coach can do a lot of things, but they can't play the game. Got to mix that coach with some decent talent to avoid those mercy rules. Not saying Bolivar doesn't have any, they have plenty of talent walking around that school building, but have to convince them to play football!
  5. Big time hire for Lexington! Kevin Ward's name is always mentioned every time this job is open, but he always stays put. I'm sure plenty of coaches are beating down the door to get a shot at this job, but isn't Bobby Sharp still on staff over there? I would think with his resume he'd be the guy.
  6. Just go ahead and drop that Lauderdale County name, pretty sure it was already mentioned in this thread once before.
  7. He is in Greenfield for life now after his brief exit.
  8. Would Westview's old DC leave South Gibson for Westview? Everyone knows he wanted the job before they hired the last guy.
  9. This news that I'm hearing down the grapevine can't be true over in Weakley County. Jarod Neal out at Westview? Didn't believe it the first time I heard it, but I've heard it about 12 times since then so it must have some truth to it!
  10. This game was an instant classic the first time around and the second time around is sure to be the same. I'll give Dresden the edge since the contest will be taking place in the heart of Weakley County. I think it will be a little more than a FG to separate the two this time around, but like other have already said, this game will be won in the trenches! Lions 36 Tornadoes 28
  11. Dyer County has been quite a surprise to me this year, definitely didn't have them in the 3rd round back before the year started. All of the Haywood injuries are alarming, hopefully they will not have too big of an impact on this Friday's contest. Dyer County has to go into Haywood which is always a tough task. I think the Tomcats find a way to get it done, banged up or not! Tomcats 48 Choctaws 35
  12. So an HC and a DC of two different programs are on the sideline helping their old employer now that their teams are done playing? Don't think I've seen that before. That's definitely not legal.
  13. Never a bad job to take over a program with plenty of athletes, but if those athletes couldn't get you one win against that schedule, sounds like bigger issues going on within. Best of luck to the next guy that to lead the Vikings!
  14. Simpson 2 still got some growing to do before he's ready to compete on this level. Going to have a better supporting cast than his brother did tho.
  15. Union City takes care of things on their end and gets us all the rematch we want!
  16. Mustangs win again, I repeat Mustangs win again! Going to be a great game, but Mustangs win again!
  17. Historically good season, then the offseason happens...graduation, new schedule, new region, a coaching change, probably lost other kids along the way. Things change year in and year out. I don't care about Halls honestly, just doesn't seem very logical for someone to be calling for a guy's head after one season at a school that historically doesn't win very many games year in and year out. But hey, whatever floats your boat!
  18. His list of offers right now is impressive and he's just a junior so there is no telling how many of those offers will roll end before it's decision time!
  19. I like GP to get the win this week, but man, all roads lead to Alcoa!
  20. The height of Halls football is what they did last season (6-5) and you want to complain about the coaching hire. As if they put out this top notch program every year in Halls. They were 1-9 & 1-8 the two years prior to last year, this coach went 2-8. Obviously it took your last coach some time to put together a winning season, this guy doesn't get the same? Again, we are talking about a traditional bottom of the barrel program and you're mad about 2 wins because you got 6 the year before, but the two wins picked up this year is equal to your total of the '20 & '21 season combined. I just don't get it! Did you do the last coach like this when he was winning 1 game a year?
  21. Dyersburg wins this game, we all know that including the Westview fans. Dyersburg is the best 3A team on the west side of the bracket outside of East Nashville. Westview is a team of young players who will be great in the future, but will take their licks for now. Glad the Westview fans have all of the faith in their team, but Dyersburg wins this one in a big way. The QB/Safety being out hurts, but it's not a 30 point difference. Just score this time Westview and give yourself a little momentum going into the offseason.
  22. Collinwood is no push over and has a good opportunity to beat McKenzie this week. Haven't seen Collinwood in person, but I've heard nothing but good things. They have turned it around from the past few years. But at the end of the day, I have to go with the experience of McKenzie. I know this isn't the same team from the past two seasons, but they are use to being on this stage. Rebels get the victory by 2 TDs!
  23. Doesn't matter what tricks or new offenses Peabody pulls out this week, Riverside will roll right into the 3rd round this week! Peabody doesn't have enough to slow them down!
  24. Dresden takes this one with ease this week, Middle College will fight but not going to be enough!
  25. Ripley can't do enough offensively to win this game. Their defense played well early, but the end of the day the Chargers took over as usual. Same game, different date! Chargers by a lot!
