Hampton Has good program all of the District 1 teams have had good programs. Washburn is alot more than 5 years old. You guys have done a great job to get there that quickly. Washburn is in Grainger County and the school is 30 or more years old and this is the first District championship for the girls. Good luck to you I hope we do have to play you if that happens Both schools will have done well.

Thanks for the update. Keep us posted on the results of this weekend. Rutledge wins 41 to 34 over Union County and moves on to play GP Tomorrow at 4:00. They are Going to be playing in the Regionals for the first time in a few years. Good Job Girls!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Possible 5 way tie for Second place out of a Six team league. You guys and Gals have all the fun in the I-Mac. How dose a team get in to league like that.? It sure makes for an Interesting Year!!!!

Union County has a couple of Freshmen Guards Both named Tyler that are good looking players. One is 6' and the other is 6'1" good size for Freshmen guards.

I heard that a girl from Morristown East has quit the team and is Transfering to Jefferson County. Can any one confirm this. If she has quit the team and is going to Jefferson Why? I think she is a Junior, why quit mid year what is going on?

I have a question about the 50-50 rule? Who decides the players that can not play in high school. If a summer team in baseball has 20 kids from the same school, then by the new rule olny ten could play for the high school and rest would be ruled Ineligible to play for the school team. Here is is the question? Who decides which player are ineligible and Which player are eligible, The T$$AA. Sounds like a law suit to me!!!! I just do not know how this rule can be written and not cause a law suit if you say these 10 can play and these 10 can't. Someone please explain to me how the T$$AA thinks this rule could be enforced.

The Only the thing for sure is death and Taxes, but I would have to say I like thier chances. But that is why they play the games to find out for sure.

Boxn1, I think we now have the answer to your Question. Rutledge has played the first part of the schedule and now I think we can say that the Team has not improved from last year. A three point loss to a West Greene team that only had one girl in the post that could match up we Rutledge size but she had 34 points. Rutledge played Claiborne a good game but their two post player had 17 and 11 points. And a good Seymour team just man handle the lady Pioneers. As I said I think Rutledge will have problems as long as they can not defend the post and do not Box out as a Team. If things do not change I see them finishing with a 15 wins & 16 losses at Years end, if every thing goes well the second part of the year and I see them finishing 4th or 5th in the district. I think they will sweep Union county and splitting with Pigeon Forge and they may not be able to beat Cumberland Gap, Gatlinburg Pittman or Claiborne County I sure hope I am wrong but I don't see them making the region Tournament again this year. It is kind of sad they have a lot of good kids this year.

I have seen alot of bad calls but I may have seen the worst one tonight. A couple of girls going for a loose ball and one girl was near the feet of the girl and she got kicked in the face. The Ref blew his whisle and call a T on the girl that got kicked in the face, not the girl that kicked her. And when he was asked what the T was for he said kicking to the face. This Ref called three different fouls on the wrong girl during the game. I think they should have drug tested the guy he sure didn't know he was calling a Basketball game.

Rutledge has gotten off to a good Start. 6-3 is good thus far but I do not think that they have beaten a team that is very good. If you check the records of team that they have beaten you will see that the Cocke County has the best record. Cocke County is good win but Cocke's record is 3-5 and they are a very young team . Anderson county is 0-8 and Rutledge beat them by 4, Halls 0-10 and Rutledge won that game by 13, Gibbs record is 2-6 and they have played them Twice and won both games by a total of 5 points on last second shots , Hancock 0-6 stayed in the game with rutledge until the end of the game. The next two weeks will be the Test. With Claiborne county at Rutledge on Friday and Rutledge traveling to Seymour on Tuesday if they can win one of those games then I think they may have a good year. They are just now getting in to tough part of the schedule. They did give GP a great game at Rutledge and had a chance to get the win at the end. In the Cocke county game they got out rebound and that and and Defense is the weaks part of their game. If they do not go to the boards against Claiborne and Seymour and play better defense in the post. I do not think they will have a chance of getting a win in ethier game. So Let's just wait and see how they do between now and Jan. 1 before we say that they are better than they were last year. It is still early in the season. I hope that they have a great year but time will tell for sure. What do you think Boxn1 you seam to know everything about Rutledge Sports!

Maybe they have not learn the system yet like you teach it at RMS I understand that is the way you coach RMS. May be coach Combs could learn a thing or two for You. May be you can ofter your vase basketball knowledge.

Coach Pott's Teams Always play hard. It is no suprise that they upset West. I am sure they will be in every game they play this year. I glad to see the girls doing well as most of them have worked really hard all summer getting ready for the season to start. This win just shows what hard work can do for a team.

I am sure most coaches are like our coach. If he wins then he add it to his record if he loooses then it just a pre season game no need to count it. We played two last year and lost them both and if he had counted them he would have had a loosing record. That is why he will not count the loss.

She is tough and should lead GreenEville back to the state again.

They won the game at 1:00 against Sevier. It was a good game a 2 to 3 point game most of the way.

Who will win the District 2 AA title this year?

I wish that was the case but it is not. Unlike some programs we did not go to camp this summer or have any practices in the summer and now we have not started practice for two days. I know there are some great high school coaches across the state but our coaches act like we should just be glad to have them. I do not belive they care if the program improves or not as long as they have the name of coach. You seam like a coach that is will to work to see your program grow and have success, but it is not like that with every high school program. That is why some kids only have AAU teams to use to improve because their high school coach could care less. Our program use to be one of the best in our area now we can not even make it out of our district Tournament. And our coachs are ok with that and their actions send that message loud and clear to the team.

Practice is over rated. At least our coach must think so. Our team is not going to have any practice until Wednesday this week. I guess he dose not want to over do it. Or maybe he has Allen Iverson's way of thinking on it. It's only practice and how is that suppose to help! It's not like it's a game were only talking about practice .

I saw Ut Lady vols practice and they spent the first 10 Mintunes of practice to streching. I do not know how much High school teams devote to streching but I would bet that most High school team do not devote that much time to streaching.
