  1. Kayla has had the supporting cast of team-mates, last years team was as talented as any group of girls you could ask for, they played for the state championship, losing to Gleason in a hard fought contest. IMO, this years team lacked one key element, a true post player with some height, who could have balanced out the rest of the starting four. As for her staying at OS because her Mom is the coach, I think Kayla is the kind of person who would have been at OS playing for anyone, she has had chances to play elsewhere, and declined, OS girls basketball has a rich tradition of success, even before Kayla came along. She has just added to it!
  2. Ahhhh! Your true colors are showing now, envy green! LOL Kayla is an outstanding player and an even better person, who would STAR on any team. She was the Knox Area Prep Sophomore of the Year last season, and East Tennessee was and is loaded with outstanding talent in girls basketball. Good Luck Kayla, Hope you bring home the Miss Basketball Award!
  3. Oliver Springs leads 35-26 at the end of the 3rd Qrt.
  4. Jame Normand of Oak Ridge, hits for average and power, and plays steller defense at 1st base.
  5. Man!!You take this posting stuff way too serious. If your going to make a post that guarantees a win by one team, and if that team doesn't win, you shoud be prepared to hear about it, for the future you'll need thicker skin than you've shown today though. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> And when you speak of class, none of my post mentions players (16,17,18 year old kids) or what they have or have not done on the court or ball field. It's easy to post tough behind a screen name on a computer. "And that's all I have to say about that" /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
  6. Panties in a Wad? LOL ETcoach=LOSER- BOOK IT! In football what can you expect, we kept waiting for your coaches dad to start swinging again!! All of your posts, not just on this forum are negative toward Oak Ridge, get over it wannabe! Kinda odd you bringing football in the mix, how many playoff wins, state championships has bille blount won? Not really a powerhouse in football are they? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  7. ETLoser, I've got a bookie that would love to do buisness with you! LOL Keep knocking on Oak Ridge and the KIDS who are playing, that seems to be working out pretty good for you so far. Your sour grapes are now turning to nothing but "whine". After your last prediction, your BOOK IT! has lost all creditbility! Good luck to the Wildcats and to Bearden.
  8. Maybe they will, maybe they won't. BUT, They are both still playing THIS year for a chance at the championship. And if neither one does win it, what does that say about your Rebs?
  9. I booked it coach and I won!!! Oak Ridge just beat Bearden 60-56!!! Better get to the store and buy some more grapes!!LOL You better just stick to Willie Blount ball!!! Cause I'm betting you don't know jack about ET basketball (or as much as you think you do) BOOK IT!!
  10. Kayla has a 21 point per game avg. as of right now, and was named the Knox News Sophomore of the year last year, after leading her team to the state championship game. As far as I'm concerned she can fall on her butt all night long!! with those kind of results. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  11. Sorry pep, but, bounder is not Hitch! Another one of your posts concerning Oak Ridge that your off the mark on. I will give you a clue though, look for a RV with bounder on it, and you'll find your man. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  12. If you'll re-read the posts, I stated that JetPride was from Cumberland County, and if you knew what you were talking about concerning problems within the Oak Ridge program (it's not about wins and losses numbnuts!), then maybe you could have an opinion that someone would give a RATS BUTT about!
  13. You have NO clue as to what is going on, as far as the situation at Oak Ridge behind the scenes, so your posts come across as uninformed and basically stupid, and Jet Pride has nothing else to post about, because the Cumberland County football program is in the dumps! Stick to your own programs, and leave Oak Ridge to Oak Ridgers!
  14. Well Willie I'll cut you some slack about the school board, because you don't live in the Ridge anymore, but if you will keep track of school board meetings as I do, I think your opinion might change, not only about the lack of support for the football program, but overall in general. My opinion on the football side, is based on the numerous times members of the board have been approached about certain conditions or problems with "The Ship" only to be told, that they don't have the resources or the time to address these problems. I have other issues with the board in regard to education, but that's a whole different topic of its own.
  15. The team lacks discipline (not all of the boys, but enough to make a difference) on and off the field, and as been this way since Stevens took over. This is not earth shattering news, anybody around the program will tell you the same thing. I fully supported this hire, but, now I am having my doubts. I have NO CONFIDENCE in our school board or school "super", in this matter or any other concerns. Can anyone tell me of ONE current school board member that has the least bit of concern for our football program as a whole, it's coach, it's facilities (don't even get me started on the lack of support for Blankinship Field) etc..etc.... The only press about our school board has been negative press of late, I don't see things changing.
  16. Actually, this was Maplewoods second trip to the championship game. I know because I was on the 1975 Oak Ridge team that beat Maplwood 46-22 for the state title, even though Maplewood was the heavy favorite that year. Congrats to both teams on a great year!!
  17. You missed the point!! I'm glad that the games are on TV, But to say that these guys don't have the time to do any homework on any given team is a joke, in these days of internet coverage, newspaper coverage, and TV coverage, and the fact that Alcoa is no stranger to the "Murph" , just about ANYBODY should be able to come up with some material about a team playing for the championship. Just MO, but I would venture to guess that the TSSAA is too cheap to hire any commentators willing to put the time and effort into it. The guys calling the game were not terrible by any means, and I enjoyed watching the game at home. My post was just an observation, thats all!
  18. First off Congrats to Alcoa!! I'm glad that the TSSAA finally came to thier senses some years ago, and set it up to have the games televised for the entire state to see, BUT, I felt like I was watching the Tennessee vs Miami game, where Keith Jackson kept going on about how Miami was going to rout Tennessee even with the score 35-7, in favor of Tennessee! The color commentator for last nights game kept bragging about Goodpasture this and Goodpasture that, and how he had seen them play earlier vs David Limpscome, and how talented the defense was, and how well they run the ball and etc,etc.... All the while, Alcoa was dominating the game in every aspect, maybe it was just me, but it was almost funny at one point! Anyway Congrats to Alcoa, And good luck to Maryville and Fulton!!
  19. Fumble Bumble!!! Who cares? Would it have made a difference? No, A State Championship game played with the new "mercy" rule in affect, one call doesn't make a difference in that game. On a side note though, the refs for all of the championship games make $100 to call the game, plus 10 cents a mile for gas, one would think that the TSSAA could afford to pay these refs more, to call the championship games, the refs have to love what they do, because they aint getting rich!!
  20. Go Maryville!!!! Boski, It will be interesting to see your posts after the game is played, and what lame excuses you will come up with, when your team becomes yet another victim of "The Streak"!!
  21. Friday Schedule: 4:30 Webb vs. Berean Christian (boys) 6:00 Loudan vs. Oliver Springs (girls) 7:30 Grundy County vs Oliver Springs (boys) Saturday Schedule: 4:30 Webb vs Grundy County (boys) 6:00 Loudan vs Oliver Springs (girls) 7:30 Berean Christian vs Oliver Springs (boys) This is the schedule as it is listed in the KnoxNews.
  22. Uh? A victory over the Wildcats put them in the SEC Championship game! What is Kentucky playing for?, the Mt.Bud History Verizon Bowl in Creek Crack, North Dakota!! I've seen Cobb play twice this year, I don't think I've ever bragged on an opposing players abilities as much as I have on Cobb, he is the real deal, and is D1 material no doubt, but if you really had his best interest at heart, why in the world would you want him to go to Kentucky? I'm not saying he has to go to UT, but go to a school that competes for championships, (at least SEC championships). And I don't think he is going to step on the playing field as a freshman and "light it up" in the SEC, even great talent requires some degree of preperation for the jump from high school to college football, (not all, but, most anyway). And I think when all is said and done, Roagan will leave with an outstanding career in hand playing for UT!
