Im glad yall are in our district for competition purposes, but yall should be in district 3 geographically. Sullivan North is a sub division of the Eastman Plant in Kingsport..lol

I miss our 1A district with Cosby , Hampton , Unaka , Cloudland , N. Greene , Jellico and even GCA. That was a fun district, you had the big bad meanies in Hampton who everybody wanted to beat , you had us and Cloudland nipping at their heels most years , you always had a suprise team show up and have a good year from time to time , we could all gripe about GCA recruiting ...ahhhhh good times!

N. Greene dropped us for some reason. We play em every year and that made us have to go out hunting different people. We have two AAA schools and a traditionally strong 1A Midway to go with what is already a tough conference schedule for us. We should really be 1A , our school, facilities, and overall numbers arent close to anyone in our region anymore. I think we turned in 354 at the two year mid cycle. Unaka and Hancock may be bigger than us now!

C'mon man! thats weak sauce! lol. I thought we were going to have to play a few more tough non conference games. Took us forever to find the last two games to fill out the schedule.

Cosby also played that whole game with a 6 man rotation. Had 2 seniors sitting out due to injury or illness. You're right though the tourny at Hancock makes it interesting.

Cosby beat the team you have ranked #1 by about 20 in a game that was never really close.....just sayin!

Conference schedules stayed the same for everyone if i remember correctly. We have Hancock , Unaka , Midway , West Greene , Claiborne , and Jellico in nonconference.

Have no idea I didnt go. Like i said when were healthy we can be good. Right now were still down one starter and another is still very limited. We only dress 9 or 10 to start with.

When Cosby is healthy they can be dangerous. Not very deep this year but im gonna bet were still better than Hancock!

You think the success Campbell County has had lately hurts em? Maybe football guys would rather go there? If you have a coach from one sport discouraging kids to play another sport they should be fired on the spot! Thats just selfish , dirty , and overall stupid. Statistics show multi sport athletes are not only better but LESS likely to be injured!

I'm pulling for SG. Coach Verran and Coach Jones are good guys Ive always had a ton of respect for both of them. That being said i have to give the nod to Oneida though. SG or any Greene County school for that matter has always been a tough place to get calls at. If the officiating goes the way it usually does for us at SG Oneida may be in a dog fight. Also if the weather isnt as bad as it looks to be and SG can throw it at all that may pose some problems for the Indians. The way it looks right now though with Oneidas defense and run game I think they take this one in a low scoring game .

That looks like when we went up there in 06. We had to wash our jerseys with a pressure washer in the parking lot Saturday morning. I think I still have a shoe stuck in the mud up there!

We look decent for the future played alot of sophomores on both sides of the ball all year. Yea we had 4 kids that were normal starters not even make the trip last night and several key backups that didnt play. We had a blast though, lots of kids who normally wouldnt see that much playing time seen a ton of it last night and it was good for them to kinda see why..if you get what i mean. #9 is a MAN no doubt, didnt play him much cause he dont leave the field in normal games just a junior too. #4 #5 and #24 are all Sophomores, gonna be good ball players for us the next 2 years.

lol..I remember that but I cant remember who it was. Most of my battles were with Hampton and GCA guys. Had to be one of them....or King!

LOL..at one point ole King had all of East Tn. coacht riled up. I think there were posters from every community around here waiting on THE KING to show up so they could smack him!

I agree with you on the playoff thing..If Unaka was eligible for the playoffs they still wouldnt need to be there. Jellico as a 3 seed playoff team is laughable, Theyre bad and they put 44 on Unaka. Im not trying to bash anyone but we Beat Jellico by almost 40 could have 60. I know we are AA we should be A being as there are almost 10 teams playing A with higher enrollment. Point being we are WAAAY better than those two teams and were not in the playoffs an Greenback would mercy rule us. 4 teams in the playoffs is too many. first round games especially in 1A are usually all blowouts.

The new Coach at Unaka is doing the best he can to build something up there at a place that traditionally doesnt care much for football. This game is an opportunity to do some good for the community and maybe help build that program up a bit. A good intersquad scrimmage would be better competition than yall playing Unaka anyway. So to answer your question NO it doesnt seem wrong to me. High School sports is about the kids and whats best for them to help them learn and grow. Whats best for Unakas kids right now is to play in this bowl game not to get wiped out by Greenback in the first round. Whats best for Greenback is not to get anyone hurt in a game that would be over 5 minutes into it.

From what I’ve seen if you have a bad night defensively Unaka can put some points up. Hancock has three kids that can really play but if they’re missing one of them they struggle and I think they were down a couple of those kids the last time they played Unaka.

Jellico beat Unaka!! Jellico is NOT good...at all!

Jellico is pitiful... If you can put 11 on the field you advance.
