  1. LA would be tough even without Dunn. There are several bench players that are really good. It won't be a walk for Upperman in any case if LA is playing like I know they can play and I have seen them play. I think LA will win but it will be close. Wildcat 1970
  2. With LA losing three in a row, Smith County is liable to lose this game soundly. LA by 10 Wildcat 1970
  3. Some of us would like to know the official word on whether this game is going to be played or not. I have heard that if there was no school, then no basketball. Anyone know the OFFICIAL word on this game? Wildcat 1970
  4. I think the Jackson County boys played about as good as any team that has played on LA's floor this season. They looked great. Also, Livingston made a bunch of mistakes and then mixed in with some sorry calls, the outcome wasn't good. I give credit to Jackson County though in causing alot of those. Wildcat 1970
  5. I think the main reason LA lost was because they were unable to control #23 on Dekalb Co. in the first half. He kept his team close or LA would have ran up a bigger lead. Dekalb Co. looked pretty good to me though. I think they maybe are the best team to play there this season, or they played like the best one! Wildcat 1970
  6. Livingston to win over Decalb County. Shouldn't be a problem beating them. Wildcat 1970
  7. He got noticed last year by alot of people. I think he could be the alltime scoring leader at LA the way he is going. He sure is exciting to watch! Wildcat 1970
  8. The LA boys lost several players from last year but from what I have seen, they certainly are not dead! They may lose a few but there are some dangerous weapons on this team. Its going to be an interesting season! Wildcat 1970
  9. Its Tuesday according to the schedule I have. Has it been changed or something? Wildcat 1970
  10. Supposedly, here is how "HOGEYE" got started at Livingston. http://www.josephinesjournal.com/hogeye.htm I am picking LA to whip McMinn Central on Saturday. The hotter the gym, the better! Wildcat 1970
  11. I was at the game. I think Davis was the real key to the game as LA could not do anything with him. I think Frey is sort of overated, he does not look that good to me and looked clumsy on a bunch of shots. His replacement seemed to be better than him. Goodpasture won though. Great season for the cats. Can't hardly wait until next season. Wildcat 1970
  12. Goodpasture may be a team of giants but you got to remember that it was a little man that kill Goliath. Livingston will slay these giants as well. Wildcat 1970
  13. I will predict Livingston Academy to beat Goodpasture whether Goodpasture likes it or not! No matter if Goodpasture has lost 2 in a row or whatever. The bigger they are the harder they fall! Wildcat 1970
  14. I think Sterling is funny too. Remember a few years ago when they stopped the race and he got out to fix something and the officials made him get back in the car?
  15. I think it will be the LA Wildcats by at least 10. It might not be by a big wide margin though. When teams are playing in a tournament, sometimes it closer than expected. Wildcat 1970
  16. Well, I graduated from LA. I have always liked Jackson County basketball due to living less than 20 miles from the school and from listening to games on the radio way back in the late 60's when they first went to the State Tournament. My first love is LA. LA is a good team but they have some weakness as most teams do. I haven't said anything bad about LA and also I believe in giving credit to a good team, even though it might be the opposing team. You can be sure that when LA is playing JC, you will find me supporting LA 100%. Wildcat 1970
  17. I think its great too! I also think that something like this should be in the fall and instead of the World Series where only 2 teams that play are from the US or Canada, let all the best teams get together and play till there truly is a WORLD series. There might be injuries of players in the spring who could miss a big part of the season, so alot of MLB clubs might not be in favor with this WBC very long. Wildcat 1970
  18. Jackson County could very well have won the Livingston game but a couple or 3 mistakes turned it around. I think they deserve the rating they have as you have to play really well to beat them and their coach is one of the best. In tournaments JC seems to play well. LA girls are not as powerful this year as in some other years. However, when LA and JC meet, its usually going to be pretty close. In a year or so JC will probably begin a reign lasting 4 years or so of state championships. Wildcat 1970
  19. I copied this out of the Atlanta Braves forum on the Braves web site last year. This was then about the Braves bullpen and their troubles. Some guy made this up. Enjoy! Wildcat 1970 Many in Braves Bullpen put on DL Washington Sep. 11, 2005. For Immediate Release The Atlanta Braves today announced that several of their bullpen pitchers have been placed on the Disabled List. "This was a hard thing to do", said Braves skipper Bobby Cox, "but it's obvious that they are disabled". Cox continued, "In this game you are either able or you are disabled. These guys have shown themselves to be disabled". None of the pitchers involved in this action have ailments which are tradtionally used for DL status, but the Braves felt that their maladies were serious enough for a stint on the DL. "I'd be surprised if any of them 'got well' before November. I think their disabilities are just too serious", said Cox. While this will be a blow to those pitchers hoping to contribute in the stretch run and possibly in the post season, the Braves did issue each of them a handicapped sticker for thier car that they can use on their days off. "We wouldn't want any of them to further injure themselves with a long walk into a store." said a Braves spokesman. "We figured that if they got all tired out by walking in from the bullpen, they could use this help. It's the least we could do, really". Placed on the disabled list today are: John Foster has been disabled with "Mad Run Disease". A close relative to mad cow disease, which manifests itself by the loss of control of limbs by the sufferer. Typically, the worst effects are felt in the left arm. "I thought about trying him right handed", said Cox, "but it probably wouldn't do any good - he's just plain disabled". The Braves do offer hope that Foster may recover. Christ Reitsma is down with "closebutnocigaritis". According to medical professionals, this is a disease of the mind in which the sufferer can almost fully perform a task, but always finds a way to fail in the end. "When Chris was always going 0-2 or 1-2 and then failing, we knew he had to be a head case", said Cox. Jim Brower has been put on the DL with a case of the Runs. "This is not a very pretty disease", said a medical professional, "just when you are ready to perform a task, you find you have the runs - and Jim has had them often this year. Every time we think he's cured, he comes down with another case of the runs." Dan Kolb is the last member of the pen who has earned a stint on the DL. His malady is perhaps the most serious of all the Braves and has not been known to medical science until now. While doctors are still searching for the cause, they have named this new disease Kolbzheimers. The disease causes a general cluelessness and lack of motor skills in the sufferer. "We really don't know if their will ever be a cure", said one doctor who has been studying this problem. "Dan may be a lost cause. We do hope he'll consent to being studied intensively in a lab." The lastest research has raised the possibility that this disease may be contagious and so in addition to being placed on the DL, Kolb has been relocated to an isolation chamber until at least November. "I hope this keeps our other pitchers from getting this horrible disease", said Cox. The remainder of the Braves bullpen will be expected to take up the slack, but the Braves did announce that any fan who could throw more than 80 MPH at the "fast pitch" game outside the stadium would be given a tryout. "It's worth a try", said Cox, "I saw a fan the other day throw back one of Kolb's home runs. He had a pretty good arm". As he walked away, Cox was heard to mutter, "they can't be any worse than this bunch".
  20. And more than likely that was taped coverage of the Olympics. I don't know for sure. Wildcat 1970
  21. Is this game canceled for good or is it going to be made up? Since its close to tournament time, they may have just wiped it off the slate. Anyone know? Wildcat 1970
  22. I think alot of people tend to forget Chris Reitsma in the bullpen. He could possibly regain that closer role. For a time last season he was pretty reliable and then he lost it and so did about everybody else. But, I don't think he is completly gone yet. Wildcat 1970
  23. I am going out on a limb here. I believe LA will defeat Jackson Co by no more than 2 points. I just have this strange feeling that LA is going to be ready for this one. Its never good to pick against Jackson County and they always are ready themselves, but I think they will lose this one. Wildcat 1970
  24. I believe LA would be alot tougher if the Mullins girl had a better touch around the goal. When she gets the ball, and shoots, most of the time its too hard. I know getting baskets under the goal isn't all that easy with a couple of people hanging on you. If she has a good game, the Upperman/LA game is liable to be very close. However, I just don't think they can pull out the win without a super great effort by all. I still say Upperman will win it. Wildcat 1970
  25. The owls looked real good against Livingston last Friday night. I agree that they are scary. They looked impressive to me! Wildcat 1970
