Check out this link about Allen High School building a new football stadium. I know Texas is serious about their high school football, but $60M is insane. From what I've heard, this is nothing new in Texas. What are everyone else's thoughts? Click Here

What I mean is I don't understand why some of the teams are in this poll and they aren't in SEMO, such as Potosi, Hillsboro, Crystal City, and Festus.

I don't know who came up with this poll but some of these teams are not in SEMO.

I'm not surprised by this poll and where Sikeston is ranked. Kearney won it all last year and Helias was runner-up. SEMO is at the bottom of the list when it comes to high school football and I think it's always been that way. You're right, Juqualin Wiggins did graduate last year. I could have sworn someone told me he was a junior last year.

Sikeston will be a very tough test for Obion County. I saw them play last year in the playoffs and they were very athletic and fast. The Bulldogs do return their starting QB from last year; his last name is Wiggins. He is a very good QB so be ready.

I think they are too and I hope they will build on this. I was told there was speed on both sides of the ball this year, and the team was getting the fans excited on Friday night. I think this will carry on to our first home game against Clarksville Northeast.

It'll be a good one and the game will be packed with Springfield playing at home. My pick is Springfield.

I'm glad you brought that up and it is annoying. These girls do it for attention and the parents don't think anything of it. Very good post!! The one about parents dropping their kids off is one that really sticks with me.

I saw where they are playing in the Carbondale Holiday Tournament. This happens to be one of the best holiday tournaments in southern Illinois. Good luck against Gateway Tech (St. Louis, MO).

I totally agree. My biggest pet peeve is bands not playing a part of the gametime atmosphere. Some bands don't play the fight song when they score, don't do cheers, and/or leave after halftime. And that music being played over the PA system?? That's another pet peeve. I know some high school bands who don't go to away games, because there is no room in the visitor stands. Instead, they could take a pep band. To a certain extent, cheerleading is in the same boat. I've seen squads that don't know what's going on and don't lead the crowd.

That is a possiblity.
