Those stories were from two years ago. I guess they are old but I do see the relevance. It's actually what I referred to in this thread already.

Always two sides of the story. Again, sad no matter what. If TSSAA handles this the same way they have in past years I would think serious punishments will be handed down. I know in the recent past when something similar has happened there were fines, coaches let go, and no postseason. I wonder if any of these punishments will apply in this case?

My bad about saying blindside block. Should have said hit. But you are placing blame nonetheless. You are posting what you saw as the truth with your biased perception. So nothing happened before the blindside hit to make the cheap hit happen? I hardly doubt that. I haven't seen the footage but surely the kid did not snap for no reason at all.

I like having pride and confidence ENasty. But EN needs to focus on the game in front of them and not worry about getting to Cookeville. One game at a time.

Sportsguy you even laid blame on a kid when you said it all started with a blindside block. Now maybe it did but why say it's a societal issue when it comes to blaming others when you even put the blame on someone. Sad incident. Hopefully all involved when learn from their mistakes and move on.

No I have not talked to any Hillsboro coaches lately. Nice assumption there. However, knowing the coaches I assure you they are more focused on winning the next game than what you think is fair. I can also assure you that Shelbyville should be focused on the same thing and correcting their own issues. At this point play the games and be glad you are getting to play. Forget fairness and just play.

If I am not mistaken Hillsboro has had all away games anyway. Pretty sure they have been on the road each week. So what does Hillsboro gain by playing Gallatin. If it were for the region sure but it is not. And why are you so worried about being fair to Hillsboro. I haven't seen or heard anyone from that side complaining about something not being fair.

I'm informed. Still have my own opinion. Last time I checked the usual contenders are still contenders with the exception of Whitehaven. They could be playing but the superintendent made his decision. I think what you really meant to say is if Maryville or Oakland gets hit with Covid it will be a big deal because most have one of them picked to win it already. If Franklin gets hit with Covid is it as big of a deal? I hope no one gets it but how will this be any different than a team getting the flu, a star player or two being injured, kids getting kicked off a team for various reasons, etc. Play who is in front of you and if you win the final game you deserve to be champions.

No it won't be. As in every single year a lot has to go the right way for a team to be a champion. This year is no different.

There will be no asterisk due to our current situation. There are always things that make winning a championship so difficult. This year is no different.

Too much money, time, and man power required to do this. Not to mention what others have already said about slowing down the game and taking the pureness out of it. Mistakes are always made. All you can ask for is consistency.

The procedure for Covid and scheduling was laid out prior to the season starting. The vast majority of the games have been played with the exceptions of metro and Memphis. There have also been an amount of individual schools affected. Why would the TSSAA have mandated region games be played any other date than what was scheduled because local politicians and a superintendent thought differently. I hate what happened in metro and Memphis but why penalize everyone else? I think the TSSAA did everything they could given the circumstances. I think each team did everything they could given the circumstances. Lets just leave it at that. It could always be worse. At least we are playing football for the most part and not having our seasons cancelled all together.

Owls88 how about this. Region 1 - Same as yours. Region 2 - Same as yours. Region 3 - Same as yours. Region 4 - Coffee County, Shelbyville, Rockvale, Riverdale, Oakland, Siegel, Blackman Region 5 - Stewarts Creek, Smyrna, LaVergne, Cane Ridge, Antioch, Overton, McGavock Region 6 - Clarksville, C Northeast, West Creek, Rossview, Dickson County Region 7 - Williamson Co Region 8 - West TN I don't see either happening plan happening. I have a feeling West TN will have two regions like normal. This will bump all the other regions numbers up. Kreager put out his opinion and his regions are probably closer to what the TSSAA will do.

Mjgb you are showing signs of being mature. You feeling okay? If im not mistaken Rossview has played decent. MJ offense needs to wake up. When you lean on the defense week in and week out at some point the other team is going to make just enough plays to win. Sounds like that happened tonight. MJ still the best team in WC.

Congrats on the win. Stratford is maybe the 4th best team in their 3A region. Take the win be happy. Got over the first hill. Still have the mountain to climb.

I thought both Hillsboro and PC played well considering first live action for both teams. Good defense throughout. PC defender made great play on the ball with about 18 seconds left on the clock to go to OT. Not sure why Hillsboro didn't just run the ball and call a TO and then go for the winning FG but great game nonetheless. If I'm making a list CR and PC are at the top until proven otherwise. EN probably 3 and Hillsboro 4.

Maybe I am wrong but I thought Covid games were no contests not forfeits. Meaning it does not count towards overall record only region record. Since GH is not in a region those Covid games would not count. Am I missing something?

Appreciate it goldenbears. I know WC has had some close games but the MJ game surprised me. This makes more sense. Penalties will kill any offense. Good luck the rest of the way.

Goldenbears so did WC actually play well or did MJ just struggle offensively from their own mistakes? I didn't get to see the game just saw the score. Obviously the MJ did played pretty well.

My gut feeling is that TSSAA has not stepped up and explained things because they feel like they do not have to. In football region games are pretty much set in stone. Obviously things are different this year so you have seen many no contests. However in regards to metro, now that they are allowed to play I strongly suspect the TSSAA will hold teams to the region schedule. Some may not like it and better games may have been scheduled but if you want in the playoffs you better play your region games. Just my opinion of what the TSSAA is thinking.

What promises were made?
