  1. What? You don't want Gville to have a chance to avenge Friday's loss?
  2. You're right, I don't really mind the trip, but I prefer when you guys come to see me.
  3. He signalled first down. I've just never seen that called. I've seen spiking the ball called and it was called in Friday's game, but never signalling a first down.
  4. To answer your question, I don't have to worry about anything. However, as far as the rematch, I did say we would have to get the SP monkey off our back, so I wasn't guaranteeing anything.
  5. These two are playing for a chance to play SP at SP, that is, unless RBS beats them, which I would welcome, not because I don't want to play them. I just don't want to drive down there.
  6. What were the adjustments that TC made on offense last night?
  7. Congrats Clay... As a Gville fan, I feel pretty good about the possible rematch, but we have to get the SP monkey off our back first. I feel like Clay had to empty out the toolbox and this game took a lot out of them. They were gassed in the 4th, and we were able to do things in the run game later in the game that we weren't able to earlier. I feel like we stifled Clay's offense, but they hit a couple of plays that helped them, like the rb pass that set up their last TD, and of course the pick 6. To simplify the outcome to a couple of things...the pick 6 was huge, as was the unsportsmanlike on our last drive when it would have been 1 st and goal from the 2. I've NEVER seen that on called, especially in that situation. For those wondering, our back pointed with one finger signalling 1st down. BUT, you can't let a game come down to one or two plays or calls. Either way, Clay needs to enjoy the region championship, and I sincerely hope we end their season in the 3rd round in Celina.
  8. We do have 20 seniors and around 70 players overall. Many of the seniors have started since they were freshmen. Most of our players don't play both ways. Some of the skill players do, but none of the linemen do.
  9. In a 3 way tie, when the top team is decided due to overall record, the other two teams reverts to head to head.
  10. Both teams return a lot, but Gville is a completely different team. Players are in different positions and more players are seeing the field as not many play both ways. We lost 3 starters on each side of the ball, but more are playing that didn't play much last year Gville has struggled with injuries this year, but we're healthier now, for the most part.
  11. It's been many of the same players for each team battling it out for the last three years. Both teams have a lot of experience on their rosters. Looking at scores, Clay has been more impressive, but anything can happen on the field.
  12. Gville had been decimated by injuries that year when that game was played, and it was actually close til late in the game.
  13. Most people expected a drop off in talent for TC, but it seems worse than what was originally thought, and tbh, that was one of the most disorganized teams I've seen on that sideline, along with a lot of blame being thrown around. There wasn't a solid team dynamic from the coaches down.
  14. I look for Clay to win by a lot.
  15. Many are stating that Gordonsville isn't that good. They may be right, however, I think the issue is that so many things were changed in the off-season, along with injuries, that it's taking time to come together. So far, they've been inconsistent. For example. I think Coalfield is better than Jo Byrns. We blew out Coalfield and JB kept it close. The only thing that makes sense is Gville's inconsistency. Either way, we have two games to get it together before we play Celina. That's the one that really counts.
  16. We should be as healthy this week as we've been all year. We've had several injuries throughout the preseason and the earlier part of the season, but we're healing up.
  17. I don't know if the TC faithful can wait that long, because I don't see the talent pool getting any better until then. They may can coach them up, but lack of that seems to be complaints now, so...
  18. The Gville/JB score was way closer than it should've been, but there some reasons for that. Mainly, JB's gameplan. They wanted to run the clock and they did. I think Gville had 3 possessions each half. They scored easily on their first 2. I think the 3rd ended on 4th down inside the 10. In the 2nd half we were eat up by penalties, and the 3rd possession of the 2nd half was when we took a knee.
  19. That record isn't entirely accurate. There were some years they didn't play when TC was 3A, so the loss total is less by about 4 games. Either way, TC has been dominant. However, there have been many very close and good games in that time frame.
  20. I'm sure they'll be back, but it might take longer than many think. Maybe when those that are in elementary get up to the high school level, but not until then, I don't think.
  21. I'm not from Clay, but man you can beat a dead horse with the best of em.
  22. I doubt it happens as long as Hughes is there. When they moved up to 2A, they wouldn't schedule us, but they scheduled Pickett...
  23. It's looking like this thread won't get much traffic this week.
  24. Gordonsville is a huge favorite going into this game coming off their big win, as Jo Byrns last two games have been blowout losses. However, if JB is anything, they're always tough and we'll coached, but it seems that in the last few years, JB has gotten our best effort. I always look forward to going up there as I would put their concessions against any on the state.
