HTV must have one of those magic 8-ball things that can predict what might have happened.  Keep in mind, it was Coach Stevens who moved the game to Thursday.

No, I don't have a magic 8 ball, but I do have the ability to look at the strengths and weaknesses of both teams.

The wet conditions completely took Cody Watts' mobility away from the Powell offense. He couldn't throw the football and he couldn't use his quickness to get to the corner and turn upfield because of the muddy field.

The wet conditions helped the Halls offense. Halls couldn't throw the football last year very well and their strength was running the football. Halls had over 70 yards rushing on the first drive, and then the Powell defense adjusted and held them to 80 total for the rest of the game.

Actually, it was a mutual agreement from both schools that the game be moved to Thursday. The forecast was for the worst of the storm to hit on Friday night. As it turned out, the storm turned east and the major rain and went went to the North Carolina side of the mountains.

Call up coach shephard in clarksville and ask how mutual that agreement was.

I don't think anyone would completely disagree with you. The game would have been different, but Halls would not have been blown out. Everyone said the same thing about the Halls/West game last year (which was played in perfect conditions) and look at the results.

a wise man once told me, "the team that scores the most points will win.  whether or not it's on a dry field really doesn't matter."  you boys need to quit splitting nails and get focused.  remember, hindsight is 50/50.

Your dumb as a box of hammers Preman...hindsight is 20/20...not 50/50. Your quoting odds, not vision :(

Unless we get it together on offense, this could be Central's year. Powell figures in too. Luckliy, we'll have plenty of time before we play 4A ball to figure it out.

I hope for Halls that their 3 years away from making it a 5 horse race (MHS, CHS, PHS, LCHS, HHS).

thanks for pointing out my mistaken metaphor there, dmoron.  you bring another one to mind:  "people who live in double-wides shouldn't throw stones," or something to that effect.

    • Best-of-three sectional series vs East Robertson at home starting Wednesday.  They put us out last year at this point.  Go Pirates!!
    • I don't believe they have anyone that is surbers caliber but a decent staff overall.
    • Richland plays at McKenzie on Wed.  Should be a good series.  Does Richland have good pitching?
    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
