Congratulations to Maryville players and coaches on making it to the state. Doesn't seem that long ago that there was a group of fans calling for some heads on this forum. This team raised their play to the next level and got it done in what seemed to be a rather hostile atmosphere. That makes this doubley sweet. Best of luck in Memphis.

Congrats to the Lady Blazers, who saw a great season come to an end.

Tough loss, close game, 2 outs, bottom of the 7th.

Congrats to Amanda Hawkes for her 1st inning, inside-the-park home-run.

 

Congrats also to Maryville on their last inning comeback, and good luck in the state.

Even though you drew Soddy Daisy in the first game of the Tourney, I believe you can beat them if you play with the drive and heart you have shown up to now. Play small ball and put runs up on their pitching. Then let your defense hold them off. You guys make us proud! Good Luck! BEAT SODDY! thumb

Maryville and Coach Hawkins...we are so proud of you. You all turned your season around. At the beginning things looked grim, but you have proved to all of us that you deserve to be in the state tournament. From 5th seed in the district tournament to the top 8 in the state..what a rally! Represent East Tennessee like we know you can. Keep on passing that Rocket Tech around...we love you!!

      What has this guy done to you that is so bad? I have spoken to him at one of the games this past year and he was very nice. I am not sure on his ability to coach.

      I see them and Oakdale struggling quite a bit the next few years. I see OS to be the powerhouse of the area for awhile. It all depends on how much Coalfield can recruit.

      I’ve said it all year coalfield isn’t the same team as the last couple years. They have 3 really good players and another pitcher that throws low to mid 80s. Other than that, everybody else is average at best. You could make the argument that their lineup was the worst out of the 4 teams in their region tournament. Oakdale is really hot right now and playing well. Greenback was the second best team there. Wartburg was hitting it well but limped into the tournament with their center fielder being hurt and their best pitcher not being able to go on the mound for them was killer.
