CoachLogan just gave a lesson on how to write on this thing.  He was clear, knowledgable without being insulting. I feel a little guilty cuz I was going to say temple ain't gonna do anything, period.  But I like the way he puts it better.  temple will once again beat the bad teams, grace, Silverdale, like that, but they will be lucky to be 4th in the region and get stomped first playoff game, if they make it.  And coahc is right, the O and D line aint very big and they aint vey good, and they aint got that many players. it will be a disappointing year for them.

hm, i dont remember even thinking what you said. I think that Temple has a legitimate chance to compete and not just "beat the bad teams". Please dont quote me or act like you are quoting me ever again. I do not want to seem idiotic by association.

CoachLogan...WOW. If that is how you respond when complimented, I would hate to see your response when insulted! I said that you made your comments with class and that it was a good lesson...even for ME, and then went on to give MY opinion. What the heck are you all bent out of shape about?GEESH. Coach, read carefully, and don't be so easily offended...especially when someone is saying something nice about you. (This one really baffles me.)

So does Temple even have a field to play on or what? Anyone know? I remember hearing they had something in the works, but haven't heard anything lately. And please don't tell me they are going to attempt to play on the field (if you can call it that) across the street from their gym. If it rains, almost an entire endzone is underwater. If Temple was serious about football, one would think they do something to have legitimate home field to play on.

Maybe they should check about using Finley Stadium? They don't have to worry about having too many games on the field with the new turf! thumb

fatchance, this is sorta off topic but i wondered if you were truly complimenting my post like you were the coach or if there was a hint of sarcasm there. i figured as long as the coach was clearing your comment about him up i might as well too

Gobbler, I was completeing agreeing with you. All smack aside, this is their problem, up front. I thought what you said was right on and will be the reason they are going to be disappointed. Oh, they will win a few, but that's it. I still don't know what Logans problem is...kinda scarry if you ask me.

i appreciate the compliment on how to be a classy poster. With that said, my problem is simple. It was clear from the very beginning that your intentions were not to inform people as to what Temple's strengths and weaknesses were but to bash them. Temple is NOT a "beat the bad teams" team. Temple is a "go out every friday night and have a real chance to win." If their line steps up, they could legitimatley contend with South Pitt for a chance at the top team in that Region because of the talent they have at their skill positions. Again, i apologize for snapping at you, but people putting down hard working, classy teams really cooks my grits.

I think it would cost too much, and they couldn't make the money back with a relatively small group of fans/alumni and Class A opponents.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
