Perfect examples:

Scott Rolen, 3B, St. Louis (.260, 5 HR, 22 RBI)-NL starting 3rd Base

Morgan Ensberg, 3B, Houston (.287, 22 HR, 59 RBI)-At Home

Carlos Beltran, OF, NY Mets (.262, 9 HR, 40 RBI)-Starting OF

Cliff Floyd, OF, NY Mets (.288, 21 HR, 53 RBI)-At Home

Jose Guillen, OF, Washington (.310, 17 HR, 46 RBI)-At Home

Pat Burrell, OF, Philadelphia (.289, 17 HR, 61 RBI)-At Home

Overall I think the AL looks pretty good, but the NL is a joke! The real starting lineup should be!

C-Paul Lo Duca

1B-Derek Lee

2B-Jeff Kent

SS-Felipe Lopez

3B-Morgan Ensberg

OF-Andruw Jones

OF-Carlos Lee

OF-Miguel Cabrera

DH-Albert Pujols

What about fielding stats? You can't just base it all on how they swing the bat.

Something else, even though theses guys are pros, they are not perfect and they are going to make errors and managers and fans understand that, so I dont think there is very much emphasis put on defense! And I will give you a few examples!

1B-Pujols has the thrid most errors of all first basemen(10 in the NL in Fielding)

2B-Soriano has more errors than any second baseman in MLB(8th in the AL in Fielding)

3B-A-Rod is 6th among all third baseman(8th in the AL in fielding, .951)

SS-Renteria has more errors than any ss in baseball, Tejada has 4th most and Eckstein the 5th most

3 OF in the allstar game have a fielding % of less than .980

I think if you said theses guys werent All-Star calibur, people would laugh at you!

Quit crying people.

The only thing MLB should change about this game is the stupid idea that the winner of the game gets homefield in the World Series. This is the fans game to get to see the most popular players play together. If you have been to a baseball game in the past 10 years then the fans are getting ripped in every deal, and the least MLB can do is allow them to vote in the starters for the game, whether or not the player is having the best season or not.
