Yes Bradley Central has a hard one but it is alittle better now that they replaced East Ridge with Warron Co.

Who mentioned Bradley specifically. I believe I stated 2 5A.

1. East Ridge dropped to 3A and Bradley picked up Walker Valley who moved to 4A this year.

Warren Co. called wanting the game with BC so the Red Bank game was dropped.

I'd like to make a case for McCallie. Look how many of the teams already mentioned have McCallie on their schedule (MBA, Brentwood A., Father Ryan, Powell, Alcoa, etc.). Here it is:

August 26 vs. Lakeview-Ft. Oglethorpe (GA)

LFO, though not quite a GA powerhouse, is always a competitive team, having established themselves as one of North GA's finest. They finished the 2004 regular season undefeated.

September 2 vs. Briarcrest

Briarcrest returns some elite DI prospects from their 2004 Div. II-AA championship team, including DE Greg Hardy and Ole Miss commitment LB Brandon Jackson.

September 9 vs. Powell

The Panthers feature All-Southeast TE Lee Smith.

September 16 @ Brentwood Academy

The Blue Tornado heads to Brentwood to play the defending DII-AAA runners-up. The always talent-laden eagles feature massive OL Mike Berry and RB Tyree Ford.

September 23 vs. Alcoa

One of the State's best teams features several DI prospects, including QB Joei Feigler, RB Dustin Lindsey, and Rivals100 Florida State commitment (TE/LB) Brandon Warren.

September 30 @ Baylor

One of TN's most intense rivalries (one of the best in Div. II) features players like Baylor FB Kevin Cooper and (All-American Tennessee commitment) OG/DT Jacques McClendon.

October 7 @ Atlanta Lovett (GA)

October means an easier road for McCallie. Of the 4 games they play that month, 3 appear easy wins. This is one of them.

October 14 vs. Tyner

Though McCallie normally dominates this game, Tyner is a dangerous team with a lot of speed.

Octover 21 @ MBA

This should be a great game. Both teams always play VERY hard; this one's not for the feint of heart.

October 28 vs. Father Ryan

McCallie closes out the regular season vs. a weak FR team.

The schedule seems to lighten up towards the end (maybe a smart strategy) but the first 6 games are as tough competition as anyone in the state will see (in their first 6).

McCallister, my man, as an MBA fan I fear playing McCallie every year because ya'll are always just as conditioned, just as physical, and just as athletic as the Big Red. But you cannot make a case for that schedule. Most of your non-conference games are against smaller schools -- and I loathe the prospect of getting into an argument about the public/private split and the ability of smaller schools to compete with higher divisions. (it seems to dominate this board every year, especially when the polls start coming out). Just think of it this way -- if MBA goes undefeated through that stretch of the first three games (albeit they're all at home) they should be nationally ranked. If McCallie goes undefeated throughout its entire schedule they'll struggle to be recognized, especially if a team like Riverdale continues its undefeated streak. Best of luck to the Tornadoes until you stroll on up to Nashville.

If you're reffering to Alcoa, I've seen them nationally ranked by various sources.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
