Gordonsville vs. Carthage

Are you new to this area Mr. Cash? Just in case you didn't know, Gordonsville will play SMITH COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL in just three Friday nights from now.

Now that we have that sticky situation cleared up, I'm sure it will be another hard fought, hard hitting game. That's what "rivalries" are supposed to be about. Like any other year, I hope G-Town wins 14 in a row. They just have to lose the first one !!!

This will be once again a great game... Probally the closest in talent these 2 teams have been since 2003.... These two teams know how to play defense.... It will be a low scroring game that will be won on big plays... I except Smith or Devore to get loose once or twice for the Tigers... and Bass or Plummer to do the same.... I dont expect much on the ground.. The linebacker core for both teams is amazing.. Kicking games for both are weak... I say Gordonsville by 1.

I must be missing something. Didn't the Kitties give up an average of 22 points a game against all A teams (except SC) last year? SC gave up 9.2 points per game against all AAA teams (except the Kitties). Have the Kitties improved that much? I don't think SC will drop off much if any on defense.

    • They did a 10 play series deal instead of down and distance. LC scored twice but if it had been an actual game neither would have mattered because they turned over the ball twice with Sweetwater forcing fumbles both times. LC only scored on the 2nd stringers as well. Defense is looking solid and the offense has a good running back and receiver who did not play last year but made several great catches during the scrimmage, I believe the cats had some key pieces missing with baseball and track still being in season at the time. Considering the wildcats were matched up against a 5A school the cats held their own and forced multiple turnovers while also creating scoring opportunities against the LC defense.

I spent 27 years, faithfully in the United States Military. I don’t know if it was because I am Black or an easy target”
    • I don’t see any of them guys why leave programs to go there with no community backing or anything. Word up here on the hill is davy and veto into it over whose kid should be q b for jr high. Tough times in tc hope it all changes with a new face. And once again we aren’t giving up shoulders. And he doesn’t want that crap down there lol
    • They had the toughest bracket last year and no one said a word. You will never make everyone happy. Someone is always complaining.
    • Whoever gets hired I don’t think they will be there long, they’ll get ran out of town because they can’t win a tough region with a pee wee team.
