And now back to football, it will be a tough game with the Mustangs giving up very little on defense. With the combination of Greenbrier's good defense and Lipscomb not quite ready yet offense, scoring will be at a premium.

Speaking of premium, parking will be that, so get there early Mustang Nation.

Looking forward to a good game with good friends.

Now that's originality at its finest. 10,000 trick points to Baseball17. Congratulations, this moves you into first place in trick points for the 2005 season on CoachT and makes you the front-runner for rookie of the year. I'm glad that you used the first post of your CoachT life in such a meaningless way. If you're going to call people out, get a little credibility first. All this aside, thanks for playing.

Thanks for taking my call.

Wasn't sure who you were referring to in your comment? If it was toward our Great American, Bayron--that would be showing disrespect....as no true American would dish our troops serving overseas. Apparently you do not know who you are showing disrespect to. Do a little homework first. Apparently you had to go thru the process of registering on Coach T first before you were able to make your profound comment. I would suggest that before you make any more comments toward this Great American, take a few hours and completely study and comprehend everything that you find at The Mustangfanpage.com A final question: Did Chuck Pack ever learn how that camera worked?

I'll hang up and listen to your comments off air.

Once again.....another useless Lipscomb thread.

Heaven for bid you talk about football, players to watch, game strategies, stats, history or even the game itself.

I suggest Coacht lock this one and add to your total. You guys must have the record for locked threads and wasted drive space.

What a shame that a few Lipscomb fans give the rest such a bad reputation.

Good luck to both teams.

Thank you CoachHARD for your comments. The Lipscomb Fans enjoy having records especially in football. Footall is more than players to watch, game strategies, stats....it also includes the Game Day Experience and the Coach T Website is now included in the High School Football Game Day Experience. Game Day includes painting the field, grilling the food, discussion around the concourses, decorating, washing uniforms, visiting school athletic websites, posting messages on football forums and discussing the Public-Private debate, who's got the best uniforms which appears how many times during a season, the best freshman, pre-season who's Mr. football, who's got the best stadiums and etc..

Now just for you: Lipscomb has been struggling offensively and has made changes in personnel I am guessing. The Mustangs will come out in a wing-T offense with Clay Smith at QB and unsure of who will be in the backfield with him. The Defense will try to stop Greenbrier's talented Kyle Herndon and his cast of teammates on offense. Look for this game to be low scoring and for field position to be the key for both teams. The fans and players usually already know quite a bit about each other and know that this is a big game within the ranks of 3A Football.

all of this is High School Football.

COACHHARD, I have come to the rescue. As a former defensive back and receiver, I feel it my duty to break down this aspect of the game. On friday night, I look for the receivers to get out there on the grass of Bobcat Field and run some sharp routes. They may even hold up their hands and catch a ball if its is throw their way. Mostly, receivers on both teams will be engaged in some intense blocking as I expect lots of running in this contest.

As for the defensive backs, I expect there to be some good tackles made and maybe even a few missed. However, I do predict the DLHS safeties to make at least 2 shoe string tackles, and the corners on both teams to combine for 5 FO's (thats force outs, as in out of bounds).

I hope this break down has really aided in your game preparation, COACH, because we can all see how intense you are on these message boards. I can't even imagine you on a Friday Night.

Good luck to both teams....Stangs win 14-6...

As for records, you are correct DLHS does like records when it comes to football.

The Winningest team in 2A history is the most recent record that comes to mind...

Another would be the 7-3 mark the Stangs have posted over Greenbrier..

And another for kicks....since 1988 the Mustangs have posted a 178-42 record...

Stratagem: A clever, often underhanded scheme for achieving an objective

On the offensive side of the ball, the objective is to move the ball into favorable position with the final goal of scoring points. To achieve this feat, look for the running backs to seek out, find, and run through running lanes, holes if you will, in hopes of gaining positive yardage. Meanwhile, on the defensive side of the ball, the objective is to hinder and, if at all possible, stop the offense from gaining yards and/or scoring points. To cut back on the gainage of yardage, I expect the linebackers from both teams to be on the lookout for possible opportunities to make tackles, perhaps even deflect or intercept a pass of the shorter variety across the middle of the playing field. On the sidelines, the objective is to win, perhaps by a sizeable margin. Therefore, I look for the coaches from both teams to coach. No, not simply coach, but coach hard.

What did you guys do.......call each other after my post? Or....are you all one in the same....maybe multiple screen names? I think coacht had to delete a few last year. 9 screen names for one Lipscomb fan was just too many.

Thanks for your immediate response. I expected no less than your arrogance to be in full bloom.

I know most of the Lipscomb faithful are good respectful people.....like I said....only a few.

I did enjoy the Mustangfanpage.....and I noticed it had a message board of it's own. Maybe you guys can talk amongst yourselves there. It looked pretty wide open for discussion.

Good luck!

Well, we now have some solid strategies on the table. I haven't seen anything about the lines yet though, so I'll make a few contributions there since I don't think the game on Friday is a 7-on-7 passing competition. I'm don't really know what to expect from Greenbrier, but having been one of the most intelligent linemen in DL history, I have a pretty good idea about what the Mustang coaches will be saying this week.

For the offensive line, I'm expecting some decent play. I expect the center to put the ball between his legs on a regular basis. You should expect to see the line as a whole getting in the way of the Bobcats. Should the Mustangs decide to pass, I think the line's number one goal will be to keep the Bobcat defenders away from quarterback Clay Smith. If given the opportunity, I think the Lipscomb blockers may even knock down an opposing player just to make sure the 'Brier knows they mean business.

As for the defensive line, I expect them to get in the backfield and try to mess some things up back there. If the man carrying the ball happens to run by them, don't be surprised if they reach out and tackle him. Expect to see lots of swim-moves and spin-moves as the Mustang line looks for the pigskin. Should someone lose control of the ball, expect the Lipscomb D-line to try to pick it up and score.

On players to watch: If I were HARD like you, I'd make sure to keep an eye on whoever has the ball. Be careful though, I've known coaches to be sneaky and try to make you think one person has the ball when someone else really has it.

For game strategies, call me crazy, but I'd expect the Mustangs to attempt to score more points than the Bobcats. The Bobcats aren't stupid though, they know what the Mustangs game plan looks like, and I expect to see them put a few points of their own up.

COACHHARD, hope this has given you some insight into what to expect from this game. If you really want some history, I'd suggest checking your local library. I hear they have some great books, probably all the history you'd want. Let me suggest the early Roman Republic as a good starting place. Hail Caesar!
