I am an old fashion scoreboard kind of guy. That means I am willing to concede that we were inferior to Fairview in 1970.

That's pretty funny!

And guys, everyone knows this is all just in fun...for fun.  I've seen so many of these guys play together and against each other in Pee-Wee, Middle School, etc, and in every sport in the county that I have nothing but love and respect for all these kids.

0...number of wins Franklin has against BA in history.

And it might surprise you to know that I was a rabid BA fan for two of those victories...

Well, here are the thoughts of someone who has seen all three - Doug Dyer from the Williamson AM in this morning's Tennessean:

Second, Franklin should not hang its head after the loss. Certainly these were two of the best, if not the best teams in the county facing one another, and the thought of a tie just seems like an injustice.

He also predicted a one-point victory for Ravenwood last week. Tough to say he doesn't know what he's talking about or that he's using bad logic...

GO REBS!

Dyer has as much of a clue as any of us at this early point in the season. The only way to judge superiority as early as week 2 is to look at head-to-head results, and he's clearly holding out for some other piece of evidence that makes Ravenwood and Franklin look better than BA. When I'm a journalist, I might just take empirical evidence into account when I express my opinions.

"Thoughts" and opinions can go either way and can SURELY be swayed by bias. However, when you gaze at the scoreboard - BOOM!!! "Reality" and "fact" replace "thought" and "opinion". You have GOT to love scoreboards for telling like it is. Just like that night in 1970 in Fairview... :thumb:

I think Ravenwood and Franklin are the two best teams in Williamson County this year, Brentwood is 3-0 but hasent played anyone to tough so far this season, only smyrna, and dickson is not good, brentwood just played bad against them. Centinnial is not near the top in williamson, and independence.. well, they are new so they just arent that good at all. brentwood academy is also good but i cant say much about them cause i dont know alot about the teams they played.

Prediction for the Franklin vs. Father Ryan game: Franklin wins 42 to 7. Thats what its gonna b.

As I've stated many times on CoachT, Mr. Dyer has some "thing" about BA. Not sure why, but it goes back several years. He has zero credibility in my book. There are other examples I could cite for you. In fact, I just "PMed" you to further explain.

Well duh, he's a Brentwood Bruin fanatic... or so all us Franklin fans thought a couple years ago. I honestly don't think that he has a "thing" for any team in Williamson County. He has no investment really. His goal is no doubt simply to please his readers all over the county. And really, I think he does that just fine.

And itzme, I didn't get that PM... could very well be that my PM box was full... my computer has been slow as Christmas recently so I haven't been doing too good of a job as moderator and checking the frequent reports.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
