Solid, but that limb isn't that solid. I'm going out on a 'weaker' limb and going with my Cyclones..........yea, I'm one of the few and the proud.........

Rainy Friday Night Special......Cyclones in an upset.......27-21

Good luck to all!

GO CYCLONES!!!! You have had an outstanding week of practice. Now do it on Friday night.

I've seen both teams play and Eliz. will need more than rain.

And the Blazers will be looking for some help vs. West......any kind at all!

I think the key to the game for both teams is:

For the Cyclones.......to get going early in the contest

For the Rebels.......to make sure Betsy doesnt' get going early and put their mark on the scoreboard

Elizabethton's loses were a done deal in the first half. They have to be a first and second half team, but especially the first half if they are going to be in the game. They have been very respectable in the second half of games. South seems to be at their strongest in the 2nd and 3rd qtrs, but by no means are they weak in the 1st or 4th qtrs, just not as strong. Mark of a good team, but their strength is thru the middle of ballgames.

I look for a very competitive ballgame, rain or shine.

Rain can mess up a football game some, but it really wreaks havoc with a good taigate party

They'll get pumped up if the Cyclones can manage to score first.

South 14-13 Final

An absolutely great show in terrible conditions. I thought the game was won when South stopped Betsy's game opening march in Cyclone territory. That, and two big plays by South in the first half, set the tone early....14-0 South at half.

Elizabethton controlled the second half but unfortunately for us, we came up a bit wide. A very good Rebel team just slipped thru your fingers, but you now know what's in your heart.

Good show by both teams and congradulations to South.

Heads up on this one Cyclones. It's one at a time Ws from here.

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
