Potential bad news for Braves' fans. The Yankees have received permission from Atlanta to talk to Mazzone to become their next pitching coach. He's been with Cox in Atlanta since June of 90.

If he decides to leave, big blow for the Braves.

I don't think he would leave Cox for the same position with the Yankees.

Not only Mazzone, but the hitting coach, Terry Pendleton, has been interviewed by the Devil Rays for a manager position. He is also due to interview with the LA Dodgers this week. Looks like Cox could possibly be left out in the cold.... B)

Pendleton could go and maybe Leo, it's just my gut feeling (no facts) that Leo and Bobby will stay together, unless Leo was offered a manager's position or George "makes him an offer he can't refuse".

Yea, I just couldnt see Mazzone walking away from the Braves after being a pitching coach for 15 with them and being in the organization since 1979! I am sure he will be successful!

Now who's gonna be the pitching coach for the Braves next year? Also how does everyone think Joe Girardi will do in Florida? I think he will be out in 1 or 2 years.....

Girardi was a surprise, he may do well, just doesn't seem he yet has the resume for a major league manager's position. May have the talent and skill, just not the resume.

    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
    • No sir. I watched it specifically and it was very dirty. He cleated the boy on purpose. Apparently, it’s an issue in football as well from what several schools have said. That said, looking forward to a good game 3. ER hit it well in game 2.
    • He is the transfer. 5star spoke on him in their new qb1 series. Didn’t list em as a transfer but I knew the name
    • Gunner Warren was the second starter, freshman. SP #1 arm impressed me last night.
