Tennessee Coach Phillip Fulmer is expected to announce later this afternoon that Randy Sanders will step down as the Vols' offensive coordinator, although Sanders will stay on staff for the remainder of the season as quarterbacks coach.

Fulmer will take over the play-calling duties and offensive coordinator responsibilities for the rest of the seson. Fulmer and Sanders have had ongoing discussions about this change for the last two days.

After Saturday's 16-15 loss to South Carolina, the Vols are ranked 108th nationally out of 117 Division I-A programs for scoring offense. The South Carolina loss marked the first time in the Phillip Fulmer era that the Vols have lost three straight games.

Cutcliffe coming back would be great, but I am not sure UT has that kind of money to spend on a offensive coordinator. Especially one that wants to be a head coach, with the UK job probably opening up, it will be hard to get him.

He is living back in Knoxville and has made many appearances at the UT games this season and has hinted that he may be back? :thumb:

Cutcliffe stated last night on the local sports VOL CALLS radio that he has NOT had any discussion with Fulmer or anybody from UT about coming back. He said the only convo he has had was Fulmer was on his well being..ditto for Sanders also.

SO I ask this....Is he lying?

    • Wow I haven't been keeping up with softball had no idea.Been keeping up with baseball and we are slowly fading there.I will check it out!!Thx
    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
