Any early candidates? Salty, where are you? I think the process will be different this time around since you have a principal now that is knowledgable about athletics and the role they play in the school. Of course, you have to find someone willing to take a pay cut to work there. Also, you only have so many P.E. classes to go around and your boys and girls basketball coaches take 3 sections each. Didn't Crawford teach math?

Thanks for the correction. The point was that he taught an "academic" subject which is not all that common among head football coaches. Yes there are some history and health teachers out there, but I think we all know what most teach. That being said will the new coach have any teaching openings to bring in any assistants or will he have to blend with the holdovers, some of which I am sure will apply. It is always fun to have an assistant that had tried to get the job instead of you. A lot of loyalty there.

Let this be the first post pushing Wes Elrod for the Head Coaching vacancy at Mt. Juliet. He's helping out at Wilson Central and has family in Gladeville. Coach Elrod would be the perfect person to get this program on the right track with discipline and maybe some hitting?? There is a lot of young talent and a very good dual-threat quarterback who will be a senior next year. The O-line will be anchored by a rising junior wh is 6'3", 285 and is a D-1 prospect. The defense will be solid with many underclassmen playing this year. The running game is in good hands with a very good rising junior. Coach Elrod, we need you!:ph34r:
