2. BGA will make the Private School finals against Father Ryan.

Yes. 100% agree

3. Independance High makes its first state tournament.

I'll go a step further and say they'll be a moderate favorite to win gold. Independence is for real and isn't losing a single player.

4. Pageman enters the Betty Crocker bake off, and wins with his Cookies, leaving volleyball forever.

PageMan wouldn't leave volleyball... would he?

7. AAA has a big shake-up, with no strong favorite. Traditional Powers either don't make it or lose early. There will be a first time state champion.

AAA will be most interesting in 2006.

8. The Ghost sues MTSU for price gouging at the concession stand.

Why wait until next year?

9. KYdigs sues TSSAA for not letting Lafayette enter the state tournament as an open seed.

Under Title XCIX (99) no less! B)

10. Coach Neely changes her hairstyle, and color.

No way. "Fear the Fro" is just way too catchy. And those shirts! To die for!

12. GLJ looks in the mirror and realizes that his hairline is receeding.

HA! That one made me laugh!

13. USJ comes back to state, strong.

Hard to replace the graduating Suddath sisters. They'll be back, but not sure if they'll be as strong as they were this year.

15. Club Controversy in middle TN causes high school coaching changes.

There's always coaching changes in the off-season, but don't know that club will ever be a primary cause.

Being New and looking at the state program,

AA Notre Dame will be strong not losing anyone and a lot of club players.

ER Will have Brock, but the Fro could thin out with loss of some Seniors.

AAA SS will be strong, with Brentwood and Siegel having great support teams.

DII Lookout for Baylor, Father Ryan will be big, BGA will grow in strength.

GPS is rebuilding, but they seem deep. St B will give Harding a good game.

Thanks for the mentions, bratman, and thanks to Betty Crocker for the pouches. Next year's Infamous PageMan Cookie - Cheddy Brat Walnut Coconut made with real butter - guaranteed to add at least 20 lbs if you eat the entire batch.

It will be interesting to see how both BGA and Independence do next year - I expect to see some good things from both.

I'll keep following volleyball for a least another year, probably longer, if Page Middle School player Nicole Smith decides to go to Page High. From what little I've seen of her, she could be the next Katie Arvidson. I look forward to seeing her at Page next season.

I've really got to get on to basketball - quit tempting me to read over here, bratman.

AC and Goodpasture: Brentwood and Independence: Father Ryan and BGA will be the finalist.

Pageman will begin a romantic tryst with either Cowboys Up or Coach Neely culminating in a double homicide which cast a shadow over the state tournament.

KYDigas follows up on his threat to become a ref and becomes a TSSAA official. He and Bratman end up in a fight that adds to the body count.

GLJ tired of the comments about his hairline buys the stuff on TV and grows a chia head of hair and trys to impersonate the deceased coach Neely at the state tournament. Mtn Man catches on and skewers him with the tongues he uses to grill with at the ER playday.

Brentwood and Franklin form a new club team called J2 only open to their players.

MTSU, in response to the Ghosts griping about prices closes the concession stand and refuses to allow outside food or drink.

It was a joke!

glj, started a thread on sports injuries on girls basketball and got some good responses, one in particular on a case concerning VB. Wanted to post it on this Forum and was unsure how to do it and if anyone would be interested. I think they would. Would you read and if interested, find the vehicle to do this?

so they wont be playin impact or select what is up with this who started it?

Prediction- Volleyball in Williamson county and Southern Davidson schools are at a very high level and they will in the next two years reach a peak comparible to Kentucky and Alabama. If there are enough high level coaches available, Impact and Williamson Select will attract many new players and as was announced today, in a Nashville Paper, a Harpeth Hall Coach will oversee a 56000 sq. foot building in Williamson for volleyball, basketball, etc that would be for 10 volleyball courts or a number of NBA basketball courts for AAU for year round leagues and tournaments and major VB tournaments. Some private investor saw a need and upcoming need and I predict a total venue for all sports, lessons at many levels and major tournaments. May take a couple of years but the quickness was surprising.

Heard about this new facility a few months ago from a reliable source. What do you think the chances are that there will be another new club starting up and having their vb home in that new venue? I think there will be a new club.

Absolutely. I don't know in your area, but for some reason volleyball has exploded in Middle Tennessee and it looks as if someone is playing the growth card. Not only in volleyball but the news article mentioned an alliance with AAu basketball and a number of other Amateur Sports organization. Sounds like Williamson may have organized a Sports Council organization much like Davidson has had success with. Looking at the total picture, there have been a number of clubs started in every sport thru out Middle. These clubs grew as much as they could and in the past few years every one of them could not handle the growth. Not that they were not good but really they were criticized for other things besides not being able to handle the growth. The growth will feed on itself until some of these clubs self defeat themselves. I don't know I would put it in Cool Springs because the fees may help defeat the project but there may be income to help it be successful. This is probably a huge undertaking that will take huge promotion and it looks as if they have signed up the right organizations to become affiliated with. if I remember your posts you may be from the Page area. if you are I think you may better understand my post better than I thought. Sorry to be verbal about this but the paper said they had already broken ground. There are some great small clubs in all sports in Middle Tennessee and it was inevitable this was going to happen just to meet the demand. The question might be how will they take care of the overload from Williamson outward from Nashville. This is the thing I think that no one thinks of. If it is a quality program, and the pricing is not too high it will be a success.

    • Wouldn't the easiest move be to move McCall up to HS Principal and have Gulley take over as MS Principal?
    • Bounder, you are correct. And it is so easy today. As a civilian today, I can check my 6th grade grandson’s grades in real time. 46 years ago as a young head coach, I knew who were my weak students and would do a weekly check. A decade and 1/2 later as an administrator, I would ask guidance for attendance, and grade reports as I did my own discipline reports. 5 years later I could run all those reports in a few minutes. today Text one the Secretaries and they can create a red flag report only printing the names with D’s and F’s or attendance and discipline issues. You are not even dealing with a whole team. The only problem with modern technology is someone who might not want to know.
    • No I didn't,  I just know jellico lost a few and should in playoffs tho....but they have alot coming in the next few yrs
    • The buck stops with the head coach, he should have know if any of his players  were not making the required grades. Either he has someone checking weekly before games and reporting to him or he should do it himself.
