Playing better football will get them better results.

Ole Dad

Very true. :P

But if they kept in region 3, they could still schedule some region 2 games which would let them see some good football. But they might win more in region 3, which would build confidence and perhaps give them a better shot at at least getting to the first round of play-offs, if that's their goal.

They could play in a powderpuff league against the girls if their goal is making the 1st round of a playoff. This is the Ole Ron Brown rule again. Clinton couldn't make the playoffs when Ron Brown coached them with only the top 2 teams going to the playoffs so they changed the rules at his urging so the top 4 would go and therefoe get Clinton in also. Now they need to change the rules so everyone can go to the playoffs in order to get Clinton in. Changing the rules or changing the district doesn't fix the problem with a poor program. Heck, play by the same rules everyone else does and fix the program in order to compete. Ravenwood just won the state in 5A after 3 seasons of football. They didn't look for a weak district so they could make the playoffs. Heck, they beat all comers. Clinton needs to stop the whining and start working.

Ole Dad,

Actually, the "Ron Brown Rule" refers to the late 80s when only one team from each "district" made it to the playoffs. Clinton missed the playoffs a couple of years there when they had 9-1 and 8-2 records (yes O-R was the hump they couldn't get over). Ron Brown was right to point out the unfairness of the system when there were teams from other districts making it to the playoffs with lesser records. The T$$AA chnged it to four teams per "region" when they went from 3 to 5 classifications in the early 90s.

"Two" teams from each district went to the playoffs. No way Clinton went 9-1 & didn't go to the playoffs...

You may want to check your facts on the years those two things happened and on the records. Not correct.
