I like WV in a close one.

Cleveland inside game vs Walker Valley outside game. Not sure Cleveland press will bother WV that much. Alyson should be able to throw over the top of Wells and Isom. Last year Cleveland had more quickness and size with Holly, Brett, Crista and especially Rader on that press.

If Alyson, Aston, and Alex continue shooting the 3-ball the way they have so far, should be interesting. Key is Alyson breaking the press double team and the first pass after that to someone who should be open. Still got to make shots.

WV will have to slow down Wells and Smith and get some stops inside. WV has got to rebound and not let Cleveland play volleyball on the offensive boards.

High scoring game favors WV. Low scoring favors Cleveland.

No way, the only high scoring game Walker Valley won last year was against Westview...check their record when they gave up over 55 points last year! <_<

Cleveland wins this game. Who is Cleveland's coach? Is it the same girl that was there last year? I think she was a Ms Basketball from Meigs in the 80s...but forgot her name.

Hey Bro,

How you doing?

Hey listen, LET IT GO!!!:huh: Its over with........Get therapy or whatever.....I feel your pain.....

As far this game, both teams, totally different makeup:

Cleveland - Only 1 main starter back from last year, and she's coming back from a broke foot. Has not played in over a month.

WV - Only 2 main starters back. Can go inside but majority of scoring so far has been outside.

Yea, its the same coach from last year, she's changed our program in a good way, yea she was a ms. basketball from Meigs. CLeveland post dominats this game, Michelle Davis and Michelle Smith are doing their thing

I will have to agree on the Inside play.Cleveland has a big advantage inside. I think WV may have the outside shooting advantage. But I still think this game will be won in the paint.

The only outside scorer on that team so far this year has been butler. Noboyd else on the team has scored in double figures all year. I guess she is doing all the shooting because the other players are not scoreing at all. If Cleveland canhandle butler they win but if not it goes to walker valley. I think angie can do the job but if butler gets free she will shoot and if she is hitting then walker valley wins. Cleveland does have more scorers than wv so it is harder to shut them down. heart said that her team had better outside. How do you know that. Only one person is scoring. I know alex and ashton can shoot so will they against cleveland? The best team will win this game and be the leader in the district. I think it will be cleveland in less than ten points

I think Cleveland wins because they are more balanced. Michelle Davis can put up 20 along with the hot shooting Michelle Smith, and Rachel Isom can get you 13 and Angie can get you 8-10 points with 6-8 assists and she can play some tight defense. I dont think Walker Valley can score 50-59 points, with Butler getting 25 of those and win. It should be a good game, first real test for WV. Looking forward to seeing WV play this year. Best of Luck to both teams, and may the best team win. Cleveland 58 Walker Valley 53

:o Wow! what a game.Cleveland and WV really got down in a defensive slugfest.Alyson Bulter may not get a lot of props from you guy in east Tenn;but she played well enough in the second half to help her team pull off a great win.She had a lot of help from the supporting cast to go along with her 21 points.Anna Thomas and No.10 came up with some key rebounds. Both these girls held their own against the bigger Cleveland front line.Cleveland`s big girl No.32 is a excellent post prospect.No.22 the young lady who defended Alyson did a great job denying Alyson the ball;but once Alyson got the ball the had no one who could stop her from getting the look she wanted in the second half.No.3 for WV keyed the comeback with 2 deep 3`s to start the second half after being down 11 at the half. :

What needs to be said is Alyson Butler did not soley win that game by herself..and for everyones info. Anna T did not have any rebounds and #10's name is Ashley Alverson who led both teams in rebounds w/ 11...it takes more than 1 player to win a ball game!!!!

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
