What classification is Stone Memorial going to be? Has anyone heard?

3A in football and 2A in everything else. In football they will be in Region 2-3A, the toughest region in 3A! This is the region that has produced 4 out of the last 5 state champions.

 

2001 - Austin-East

2003 - Fulton

2004 - Fulton

2005 - Livingston Academy

 

Here's something for the folks from Stone Mountain to think about. Last year was Livingston Academy's first year in the region and they won it ALL!!! If you want to be the best you've got to play the best. Good luck when you begin varsity play next year!

How many student's does Stone have? I hear they are over what they projected.

Stone Memorial High School in Cumberland County will start this new school next year with an energetic, hard working coach. Good Luck to Coach Reeves!

Coach Reeves left in April and went to East Paulding in GA. The new SMHS coach is Marty Davis. He is 3 and 1 with a JV team. The one loss was by the varsity DCA team and he beat the varsity CCHS team. That game was to have been a jv game, but the CCHS coach gambled and loss.

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
