It was Waverly's Freshmen team playing Dickson's Junior Varsity. I believe the reason the game was called was that there is some kind of rule stating that preliminary games should not delay the start of varsity games. Someone from Dickson County approached the scorers table and the game was then called. It was a sad way to end a very competitive game. The fans arriving for the Varsity games to follow added to the interest and intensity of the game. Many Waverly fans wondered aloud if the fact that two of Dickson's better players fouling out prompted the decision. Someone once said that "ties are like kissing your sister". Well, maybe some people enjoy that. LOL

In regards to the seeding for the freshmen tournament, in years past, teams which played non-freshmen in freshmen games did not count as wins. (Some teams do not have a strictly freshmen team or play a freshman schedule.) That had a tendency to mess up the seedings come tournament time. I am not clear on how the tournament is currently structured.
