All right, it's less than 7 days to kickoff. Who's everyone's pick?

 

I'll go first and against the trend. The Jerome Bettis Hollywood story turns out to have a sad ending. Seattle by 14.

I also will say that Seattle will win I remeber back when my Bucs were supposed to be 14 point underdogs and then manhandled the Raiders.

Allright, so if you are going against the odds, then tell us why. Why do you feel that Seattle can beat Pittsburgh by 14?

 

Is it that Seattle is just a better team?

 

Holmgren will have a better game plan?

 

Pittsburgh will show the same hand and Seattle will have the answer?

 

Pittsburgh will self destruct?

 

Roethlisburger will get picked apart?

 

Seattle's rush will be too much for Pittsburgh to handle?

 

Seattle's balanced attack is too much for Pittsburgh to defend?

 

I could name more but this should cover most.....

Three things, besides the obvious that because of their location no one has taken them for anything.

 

1. The Seattle D is better than people realize.

2. Seattle's O-line has been together a long time and is very good and probably very underrated. They know each other well, and they will be able to control the LOS.

3. Hasslebeck makes very good decisions. He knows the system well and knows what to do at all times. He doesn't make stupid decisions.

 

When it all settles, it all comes down to who wins the battle up front and turnovers. I think Seattle wins both.

i think the steelers win, even though i dont want them to. i honestly want neither to win.

I think that Seattle will win becasue they have the best O-Line in the NFL 3 pro bowlers just from the line.

 

Then you can look at what the defense did to Carolina shut down Steve Smith after lighting up the Giants and the Bears.

 

Also I think they have a bigger chip on their shoulder than the Steelers.

Did you see what that defense did to Peyton Manning???and that's the best offense in the NFL...

 

 

Neither team has a chip on there shoulder...If they had a chip they done go them off there backs...They said Seattle couldn't win a playoff game and hadn't in 20 something odd years...and they won a playoff game...The Steelers can't win an AFC championship and they done that...

The way that Big Ben, The Bus, and Polamalu and the Steel Curtain have been playing, it would be wrong to pick against them. The defense has already shut down two of the top three offenses in the NFL, Seattle should go the same way. If Pitt can split the carries between Parker and Bettis, and establish the running game, then Big Ben and Heinz Ward will take care of the rest.

 

Therefore, I will take Steelers in a semi-close game:

 

Steelers - 27

Seahawks - 17

 

(Not to mention, the Steelers are way overdue for a Super Bowl victory)
