A/AA Duals Question

Congratulations to Franklin Road Academy, Notre Dame, Seymour and Sycamore for qualifying for the A/AA State Duals.

 

Was originally surprised to see Notre Dame name but later learned it had switched from Division II to Division I.

 

Here's my question. With a TSSAA enrollment of 582 and the private school multiplier of 1.8, how does Notre Dame qualify as AA? My math puts the adjusted enrollment at 1047, over the 996 max for AA.

 

It confused me since the other schools fall under the 996 number - Franklin Road is 283 (adjusted 509), Seymour 849 and Sycamore 856.

You're looking at enrollments from last cycle. Notre Dame is down to 543 students, which multiplies up to 977, still in AA.

Thanks silverpie. That makes sense except that Notre Dame's own website says current enrollment is 565 which pushes it over the 996 AA limit.

Enrollments fluctuate. The current cycle is based on fall 2004 enrollment.

ND would do well in the larger division as well. Maybe not gold,,, but top four perhaps.

its kinda dumb how ND comes into a/aa and is a powerhouse...i know they were in the state is soccer too and now wrestling. This is not a crack on ND im just saying thats pretty suspicious. I know ND can do nothing about population i just hate the multiplier

yea that is crap. How can Notre Dame come from being a Division 2 to division 1. i kno the 1.8 multipler. which is crap. but if ND can be in small school then Springfield shouldbe able to be in small school too. since they are the smallest AAA in the state duels now.

ND is only doing whats best for them. They know to ever have a chance at the Gold in state is to change Divisions. I wish them well but don't blame them for wanting a chance to WIN!!

no no dont get me wrong. its a good move. but the multiplier is right. they should be in AAA. Hey im not putting Notre Dame wrestling or and other sports down. they have tradition. which is good. i dont blame them for making the move. im just saying there school is a lot bigger than most a/aa skools

How would you like to be like Greeneville HS a legite double AA school but because BBall chose to play up, wrestling goes up as well. About 880 students. Not a complaint but I hate being tied into Basketball.
