Oakland Baseball 2006

Oakland Grad...got the site back up around 2p today. Missing LetsPlay2, he handled it for years. Barnes did not throw that many pitches really. One inning he had a 5 pitch inning. The other 4 innings he was striking people out. I was pleased witht the way we swung the bats. Their pitching was walking several, but we did have 5 players to have hits.

Congratulations Patriots! First opening day victory for ya'll in years isn't it? The Warriors are swinging it well too, should be a great matchup in less than 2 weeks!!!!! How did your Salqui signee do?

 

We won opening day in 2003 season...on the way to the state in fact. Saluqi signee walked 3 times on 13 pitches. Did not get to swing the bat at all.

 

Good crowd opening night too, especially as chilly as it got. Oakland Grad...will you be there for any games during the tournament?

Im gonna try to, but this whole week is iffy because of errands and what not, should ready for baseball full throttle come next week tho. Hit me up on my email sometime, and maybe we can talk some baseball, oaklandpatriots@usa.com. Good luck to the Pats tonight, how they can pull it out against what is usually a tough Hendersonville team

How did Oakland do tonight? they played Hendersonville after us at Oakland in the grand slam challenge. Tough double header for Hendersonville, but I was just curious to see how everything played out. The first game was a great one with a 3-3 tie in the top of the 7th, father ryan had a clutch single and a 2-run bomb to win 6-3.

The Patriots improved to 2-0 on the young season with a convincing 11-4 victory over Hendersonville. Tyle Burnett got the pitching victory with Andy Morrow coming in and throwing 3 scoreless innings. Morrow did a great job. Hendersonville scored 2 in the top of the 1st inning, but a 3 run homerun by Tennyson Dodd erased the deficit. Dodd, Phillip Parsley and PJ Polk each had 2 hits for the Patriots and Seth McConnell and Kyle Henry each had a hit. Our defense looked pretty solid last night as well. Probably the best total showing by the Patriots, definitely areas to improve on, but as a whole, pitching, hitting, defense, base running...all looked pretty good.

Dont pay any attention to Fball, hes just jealous that Oakland is a school that kids wants to come to be successful, particually in athletics. Another good outing for the Pats, was real pleased to hear bout the job was Morrow was able to do coming out of the pen, thats going to be the wild card this year and its a big plus whenever we can get a solid outing from those guys. Know anything about Lexington?

Oakland wins again against Lexington by a score of 4-1. Dont know any details but glad to see the Patriots winning again with good pitching and defense. Only given up 5 runs thru 3 games, so Im hoping the guys can keep it up..................

Even though Lexington is not an AAA team, they are a solid ball team and always one of the best in West Tenn. Keep it up.

Although Oakland is only 3-2 at this point, I must Ive been pleased with their progress, particually on defense and pitching. It looks like Oakland will be able to throw 3 quality starters out there in Barnes, Burnett and Wilson. Add to the fact that Morrow and Wilson have done a decent job coming from the pen, thinks are looking pretty good right now, if the guys can keep it up, Oakland will be a very tough team to with their offense the way it is

District 7 is a very competitive district and looks like Oakland has enough talent to compete at the top.
