Bethel has solid recruiting class

He will have some stiff competition. They have a senior this year (4 year starter) with two more underclassmen that can play. They also signed the qb from Ezell Harding. He's not bad either. Glad to see Hayes go to Bethel. He will be a great asset to either sport.

Thanks, I thought they had a veteran coming back. Bethel has some very good athletes on campus and their facilities have improved greatly.

One constant at Bethel has always been their golf team...yr in and yr out.

Bethel had a pretty good year in about every sport. The move back to the TranSouth

is a good one. It may take a few years to compete...but they will do so. The jump from DII to DI will tough for the basketball teams. The TranSouth is the best girl's conference in the nation.

I agree with you on being back in the TranSouth, very good conference.

I read in the UC Messenger about Drew Hayes signing with Bethel...I just have a question...If he was seriously being actively recruited by Ala-Birmingham,Vanderbilt and Walters State in baseball, football at Memphis and baseball and football at Tennessee, why Bethel???...Other than his dad...I mean the opportunity alone to play baseball in the SEC would have been better than going to a NAIA school...Looks like it would have helped him out exposure wise to better his draft status....I mean it's a steal for Bethel, looks like to me....

If you sign DI...you are locked in for 3 years. If he is good enough...he will be found by the scouts. The NAIA has some great players...and especially the TranSouth Conference. I know Cumberland had 4 players drafted this year.

It said in the Sun he is going to play 3 sports. I don't see how he can do that. It's too demanding at the college level.

The TransSouth is NOT the SEC though....I'm just saying..... :o

I'm with you one sport is hard enough to play at the college level :o

But,I guess it doesn't matter how you get there,if you get there....

I agree with the three sports. I can't imagine him being able to do it for more than a year.

That said, I also don't understand why he didn't sign higher wither. I have no idea how close he and his father are, granted I can understand why any knowledgable pitcher's father wouldn't want his kid to play for Delmonico, but I really thought he would play D-1 in something. Aren't you still locked in for 3 years in NAIA too? I believe someone told me that when I asked the same about Keck from Lexington. I think it's a mistake, but I hope he proves me wrong.

That said, I don't know about football, but Bethel has one heckuva baseball recruiting class this year.

Looks to me that he would greatly improve his draft status if he developed in the SEC vs developing in the TranSouth...Looks to me as a competitor you want to prove your wares against more quality competition.....

I hear he is doing pretty well in the Kitty League playing for the Tennessee T's..

You are correct that you are locked in for 3 years if you sign with any 4 year school (NCAA or NAIA).

Football had a very good recruiting year too. Things are looking up at Bethel.
