Switchhitter
For the record: Melrose's Cedrick Wilson won a State Championship in Football while playing Quarterback, a NCAA National Championship in football at Tennessee, and a Super Bowl Championship with the Pittsburgh Steelers. But in 1997, as a point guard for Memphis Melrose rated No. 1 in AA, lost in the championship game to Union City. Union City, unrated that year, beat the defending AA champs Martin Luther King, Austin East and then Memphis Melrose for the Title!

I haven't thought about the Cedric Wilson angle. Bobby "Bingo" Smith was a multisports player at Melrose also, Football, Basketball, and track. I think Cedric must get strong consideration. Thanks for the post. Oh, one thing you forgot to mention, Cedric was a very good pitcher in baseball. Tigersteve44
Tom Marshall-- Mt Juliet was a 1st round NBA pick. 6th overall. How many can top that? Tom Marshall, Western Kentucky Univ. and 7th pick in the first round of the 1954 NBA Draft by Rochester Royals. He only average 5.7 points per game as a forward. Also he played about 6 years. Hey, he deserves to be on the list. Thanks for the post. Edited February 20, 2006 by Tigersteve44
Tigersteve44
Hey just a reminder. The original question was which Tennessee High School has produced the most NBA players. So far, I haven't heard anyone topping Memphis Treadwell Hank McDowell Chris Gardner Andre Turner Elliot Perry Penny Hardaway That is five NBA players all are guards with the exception of Hank McDowell who played forward. Jumpshot
Three of those four were coached by Garmer Currie who just recently passed away.
truhoopsfan
This may be off the subject, but why has Treadwell fallen off lately?
