You have to move pretty fast in marching band sometimes, and some athletes, like linemen, can't move anymore than the Taj Mahal.

try taking really close to 5 to 5's (thats a 36 inch step) at 180 bmp with a tuba i bet there are some linemen that may not be able to move like that!!

I'm sorry, but running does not make something a sport.

 

Take golf for example. The only preson running is probably the caddy. Come on.

Then again, look at the other things that are considered sports, and they are judged and placed,..without head to head competition. You've got long-jump, javelin, gymnastics, and all these other things in our Olympics. They don't put glue in the powder for gymnasts, or anything like that either. And yet, they are judged. They are placed. They are told "You're second, and you're first.."

 

But I guess I can kick myself in the butt, because what I just said has nothing to do with TSSAA.

 

 

why stop at trying to make band a TSSAA sport... go all the way and make it an Olympic sport
