Did anyone else notice that every time Ezell threw the ball inbounds under their own basket, they got an uncontested shot from the corner? No screen, no cut, no nothing.....Here I am. Throw it to me. Wow, I'm open.

This game was a matchup of two great teams. The problem was the Harpeth was able to slow down Deathridge shooting, but Deathridge is a team player and when two people are guarding her then she beats you with the assist. These intangables are what qualifys her best for miss basketball, which was missed by those who have a vote. It is not only the ability to dish but the end result by Davis, Pratt, Carden or whomever is there to put the ball in the hole. This they can do. That was the difference in this game. When mendenhall dished Harpeth did not score.

P.S. Who won ?

most of you were right Ezell by 15.... It just was not losing by 15

Congratulations Ezell, and I hope you all do great, BUT I am afraid you cannot compare Deathridge to Mendenhall. Mendenhall is more athletic, able to score easier, and is able to dish it the problem was the other girls werent able to make a shot. Mendenhall has a better chance to get a nomination for Miss Basketball than Deathridge any day.

Agreed, Deathridge is a playmaker, she gets plenty of assists, but assists won't get you a Ms. Basketball Award. Deathridge is stoppable, as is the whole team, it just seems that many teams haven't found the right formula.

    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
