Roger Perry of Portland High School is the new coach at Mt. Juliet, and he will be playing the same region as his former team in 2006.

He brought his son and at least one other assistant with him from Portland, who promoted Mike Bever to head coach last month following Perry's move.

Get ready for the Wing-T.

What happened to the former Coach?

I understand he got numbers up, and was rebuilding things.

Sent a couple of kids to UTM and a QB to Richmond didnt he?

Isn't Mt. Juliet scrimmaging Hickman Co. in May? That would be a great test for the dawgs.

Yes...Hickman County is scrimmaging Mt. Juliet this May...May 19th as a matter of fact...this should be a good test for both teams....HC scrimmaged Portland last summer and handled the Panthers pretty well considering it was Coach Swenson's first live action agianst another team @ HCHS....Hickman County will be better....Look out region 5 4 A

Is Hickman Co. any good and what class are they in?

they are 4A...they are rebuilding a program there that used to be good. They were 4-6 last year...more wins than they last 4 years combined. They have things headed in the right direction and will be even better off in another year when the county schools split and the new one is opened...it will cut the population in half...they will be a power at 2A easily

What time will the scrimmage start? How will Hickman Co. matchup against Mt. Juliet? Sounds like Hickman Co. is starting to up the ante on competition which tells me they think their going to be better. One moe question......how productive has the offseason strengt program been?

    • I don't believe they have anyone that is surbers caliber but a decent staff overall.
    • Richland plays at McKenzie on Wed.  Should be a good series.  Does Richland have good pitching?
    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
    • I heard Alabama was at Antioch practice and Colorado has offered QB. Hoping the Bears have a great year.
