Bill Young of CAK has got my votes i think with last years proformance in 2A was outstanding..........and to do so well in 2A coming up from 1A many people said CAK would win maybe 3 or 4 games last year but they finished there recored with a 8-4 overall and a 4-2 in region play (the loss to Lounden was a fluke CAK should have won that game)......................... what u guys think

A fluke???

I don't think so. Can you say; Can't defend Bubble. Ran it time and time again. I don't think CAK ever adjusted. I also remember a QB sack that turned in to being a really bad call. Do you remember??? By the way I don't think Young should have been the region coach of the year. Moveing from 1-A to 2-A would be a bigger accomplishment if they weren't a private school. I'm sure everyone wished they could recruit but that's a different subject.

...Wayne Turner of Tyner is one of the best coaches in the state...as you can see by my 'signature' his teams have won Region 3-2A every year(except 2000) since 1997...In 1996 when the "RAMS" competed in 3A, he won that Region also not to mention playing for the 3A title that year and winning the 2A title in 1997... not much is ever said about him or his coaching staff but everyone knows that you don't produce playoff teams year-end & year-out without sacrifice, hard work and dedication...what other Coach in 2A can claim this success???

...Nine(9) Region titles in ten(10) years!!! :thumb:

Wayne Turner is an outstanding coach, and for those of us who follow 2-A football, here in east tennessee know how succesful he has been. however winning a region that only has 5 teams, most of the time if you win 3 out 4 of those games youv'e won the region. Last year Boyd Buchanan was 6-7 overall, Marion was 7-5 overall, Sequatchie Co was 4-7 overall, and Bledsoe Co was 3-7 overall. Kinda of a down year in your region, I'm not taking anything away from the success you have had, just that you usaully have ONE big game in your region a year, and if you win that, chances are pretty good, that you will go on to win the region.

...From your comments you seem to know very little about Region 3-2A...2005 was the 1st year(due to re-classification) that only five(5) teams made-up this region...it had been a seven(7) team region for many years...your statements seem to imply that Region 3-2A was "down", however our region did dominate Region 4 in the playoffs...Boyd-B. beat Smith Co. which was the 1st place team in that region and Marion Co.(our 3rd place team ) beat Westmoreland(the 2nd place team)...

...Before you make statements "trying" to minimize someones comments, please do a more research...

...Oh yeah one more thing...The Tyner "RAMS" have lost only one(1) region game in ten(10) years...If that doesn't qualify as being one of the best coaches then nothing else need be said!!!

Coach Akins of Boyd Buc and staff did a good job of getting Boyd ready for 2A. There schedule was tough, and the record did not show it but they did a good job with there only loss being to Tyner in 2A. First year in 2A and made it to the state quarter finals is pretty good, getting knocked off by Tyner who i thought played the championship game in the semi finals against Alcoa. That was a heck of a game.

Ram your correct, Turner does a great job, and i'm not tryin to take anything away from him at all, but me or you could win 3-AA with the loaded teams he's had. It suprises me that he's not had 3 or 4 championships. The only region team that has beat them is Meigs, probably not as talented as Tyner at the time. They are still in a very competitive region and do a great job. Turner deserves a lot of credit but dont give the man too much, see what i'm sayin?

...I'll address each "hi-lited" point...(1) every Coach is as good as his staff, whether me or you could win with the players is another topic...Tyner has been blessed with an excellent coaching staff(Crews, Stewart, Parker, Maples and several of the former players and "Boosters" that come back to assist the kids)...(2) In 2000 when Meigs won the Region, they were the better team...Tyner had a very young line as well as skill position players(the majority were soph's)...and lastly...(3) no I don't see what you're sayin'!!!...If a team is losing, the Head Coach gets most of the blame most of the time...if he's winning he gets most of the credit...so all I'm saying is: give Coach Turner his "props"(anyone who has followed "RAMS" football knows that it takes a collective effort to put together a winning tradition)

...One more thing here is a breakdown of who Tyner played when we didn't get to Murfreesboro(and it's nothing to be ashamed of!!!)...1998-lost to Lipscomb(runner-up)...1999-lost to Goodpasture-State Champ(21-18)...2001-lost to Goodpasture-State Champ...2002-lost to Lipscomb-State Champ...2003-lost to Lipscomb(runner-up)...2005-lost to Alcoa-State Champ!!!

...And he has coached Six(6) TSSAA Mr. Football Winners!!!

Yes they should have at least one more ring, but Hamilton County only allows 5 coaches, two years ago they only had 3 coaches. That is one reason good coaches turned down Brainerd and Central jobs, Coach Turner may not be the best but he has been to THE game twice, lots of Mr. Footballs , lots of scholarships and the regions.

Boyd Coach Atkins is in my opinion a top coach with a good staff also.

    • The amount of people pooing on UH is crazy. They're a noticably better team than last year when they made state and were competitive , AND they run ruled Eagleville a few weeks ago. Now I understand Eagleville was missing a few guys, but they still. They. Run. Ruled. Eagleville. 1st single A team to run rule Eagleville since when? Pre 2017??
    • If that Yellow Paint is all gone I'll flat bet it didn't wash off there. I bet that took some scrubbing to remove that if it is gone. Lacrosse is one of those northern sports all these misplaced Yankee's that are posion to the community brought in by  (Blount Partnership, ( The Devil) with them so somebody allowed them to paint their markings on the field that cost more than the twenty top people on payroll at Maryville make a year. All this to please the 1% Club and the 25 people that would come to see it. All in the name of WOKE!!!!!!
    • They will probably, struggle
    • Dyersburg is going to be good, really good. As mentioned, they have a lot of talent on the way and the trio of Chelby, Joya, and KayKay will only be better with a full season together under their belt. To me, playing in Murfreesboro two consecutive postseasons will only serve to make them more dangerous if/when they stand among the final eight teams this March. Experience, good or bad, always makes you better. And not only do they have experience, they know how to win there. Schedules are coming together for all of the teams and I am excited about what I am seeing on the preliminary drafts on Dyersburg’s schedule. I know I am being a tease, but it’s simply not my place to announce what another school is doing. With that said, I won’t go into specifics. However, I am excited about renewed home and away contracts for the non-district portion of the calendar. I think west Tennessee will have a lot of interest as well.
    • What does everyone have in the final 8? In no particular order. 1. Eagleville 2. Gordonsville 3. Greenback 4. Oakdale 5. South Pitt/ East Robertson-- not sure 6. Richland 7. Halls 8. Union City
