Brentwood traveled to Overton today for a make up district game. Overton defeated Brentwood 9-4. Brentwood now stands at 8-2 in the district where Overton still stands undefeated at 10-0

Overton high something that money cannot buy. Dedicated coaching and players that play the game for the right reason, they have not fallen into the "travel ball" trap. Great group of young men

Chris Sutherland pitched for Overton i believe...i could only make the second half of the game, but when i was there i did notice Ben Burgess gun somebody down at 2nd. But for Overton as always, Zach Hudson and Richie Goodenow absolutely drilling the ball for multiple RBI's.

Overton had a pretty big scare on Wednesday with Hillwood 6 to 6 going into the bottom of the 7th. It's a good thing Hillwood doesnt have a decent center fielder or there could of been a major upset.

It's not what I heard--I was there! Two plays on defense for Brentwood would have taken away 4 of Richies' RBI's. Don't get me wrong--I know enough about Goodenow, Vernon, Hudson and Sutherland to know that that was not their best game, especially for Sutherland yesterday, who hit several batters that lead to Brentwood runs scored. The fact that they were able to always put the ball in play and make the defense work for their outs is very important. It WAS a much closer game than the score would indicate. It very easily could have been 3-1 going deep into the ballgame, but to Overton's credit, they kept doing what they do--making things happen. Good luck to them as they lead the district.

You heard right, Overton has more talent than Brentwood, but the game I saw on Saturday did not indicate that. Brentwood's errors were hugh for Overton. I did not make any excuses for Brentwood.
