The Middle Tennessee Coaches Association would like to announce our 2006 A, AA, and AAA/Div II All Middle Tennessee Teams. For a player to be selected, her high school coach must be a member of MTSCA and must have nominated her to a committee made up of district coaches. We are very excited about this year's selection and want to congratulate each girl who made the team. There is something special about being chosen by coaches who have seen you play. Players will be honored June 12th at our All Star game to be played at Columbia State.

As usual we had several girls who had a great year who were not chosen. MTSCA wants to congratulate each girl who was nominated even if not selected. The selection process was difficult as 82 players were nominated for AAA/Div II, 45 for AA, and 27 for A. Because of the number of nominations, AAA decided on a first and second team.

We are very excited about our association and involvement of 87 schools and 147 coaches. We need your input on how to make this association better for our fans, coaches, and especially players.

Congratulations girls!!!

I think you are right coachd. there were players not on this list, that deserve to be. I haven watched players that has out performed a few of the players on these list. I am not saying the girls on these list are not very good players  I hope politics is not getting to this. because some of these girls need to be looked at by scouts also. I belive thats why they play travel ball so they can be seen reguadless. If i offend anyone, SORRY, just telling what i see and know. B)

coachrw, you cant put everyone on the list. It looks to be a pretty good list to me. and you have to remember, that if your coach is not a MTSCA member, those girls on his/her team will not be selected. Scouts do not look at high school statistics anyway. they have their own season to worry about. All they care about is how a girl does in travel ball. If she didnt make this all-star team, she needs to shine during the summer

Maybe the girls that you are thinking about were not nominated. If their name was not on the list, they were not considered.

and i understand that, but what i'm saying is that some other girls should have been nominated over some of these...

one young lady has signed with UNA and was not even nominated?

she leads her team in hr, sb, slugging % over 700, only 2 errors in 4 years on defense?????

With a total of 63% of the all stars coming from only three teams and East Robertson having 26% of the Middle Tennessee all stars (that's more than one fourth of the states all stars on the same team.....hmmmm) one has to wonder how un-biased this selection process is. I don't know much about most of these girls, but have no doubt they are all deserving. I'd hate to be the Coach of an East Robertson team that has that much talent and does not do well in the State. <G>

All-Star teams are always easy to criticize. Everyone has their own team that they follow and others that they see on a regular basis, so they are naturally biased to certain players. This team is a little different in how it is selected. The players are nominated by THEIR coaches, but the coach MUST be a member of the Middle Tennessee Softball Coaches Association.

If your favorite player is not on the list, check and see if your coach has joined the association. If your player is deserving to be on the list, and the coach has not joined, who's fault is it.

Yes, I'm sure there are deserving girls that have not made the list. This organization does a tremendous job with the assets they have available. The more coaches that are involved the more impact they can have on the game of High School softball. If you want your favorite player eligible next year, encourage your coach to be a member next year.

By the way Cascade11, your coach is not a member!
