I went to the game, just wondering what some of the players in it thought.

I also went to the game but I arrived at half just in time to see the kick off. From what I saw in the second half, Father Ryan dominated. They seemed to use their outside mids more then they did their last match with MBA. Using their flanks seemed to help them a lot. They also had much more control in the central midfield which led to some good oppurtunities on goal. The Ryan defense stopped pretty much everything coming their way. What it looked like to me was that Ryan had that ball game won after the second goal. Hats off to the Father Ryan team for winning when it really matters.

Looks like I have a couple of things to explain.

First, I really am BGA keeper. All of my teammates and my coach knows it; my identity is no secret. I had no idea someone posted as me; I was only told a couple hours ago by my coach who was confused how I managed to post while I was playing a game against JPII. Apparently, my sister, who was home babysitting, found out the score and decided to post it. How she got my password I have no idea. I am BGA's keeper though.

Second, I was very suprised that Ryan was able to handle MBA so easily. I apologize to anyone I may have insulted when I gave my prediction earlier. I guess that is why I gave up making predictions last year. Congratulations to Ryan. They played a great game and deserved to win. I feel badly for MBA, though. I don't believe that they are 3 goals worse than Ryan and I hope they have a good showing on Friday.

Finally, I figure this question will come up again so I will go ahead and answer it. MBA will play JPII for the Middle Region darkhorse tomorrow (Friday) at BGA at 5 pm. BGA plays Father Ryan for the region championship at BGA at 7pm on the same night.

I hope that clears things up.

While the winner of d2 middle could win state, I would say it is very unlikely. I have seen all d2 middle teams play this year as well as Christian Brothers and I would have to say they are in a different league. This team is the best hs soccer team I have seen in a while and I predict tehm to win state with little or no trouble.

No need to apologize for making a wrong predition, who cares, you guessed wrong, everyone on here does it multiple times, should be a heated final between Ryand and BGA though, looking forward to it.

    • That was after the 2nd year of a 4 year cycle.  Since Covid we have been on a 2 year cycle.  So, there really isn't a "mid cycle" reclassification this time.   Idk if there's anything in place to address the issue of a school closing.  My guess is, nothing can be done.  This would be akin to the 1st year of a 4 year cycle, where a school has the 20% +/- but not allowed or even have the option to move up or down.
    • No reasonable lawyer would take up this case. I am not a lawyer, but I know school law in and out.  Similar situations just like this play out thousands of times each year across the country, even at the college level (i.e. Ole Miss)  The Plaintiff's never win...ever.  If I am wrong, please provide a legal precedent for me. I will be waiting.  https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39431892/judge-drops-ole-miss-player-lawsuit-lane-kiffin
    • Yes Justin Cruse was named head coach
    • It used to be, I think it still is, a change of 20% +/- gives reason to reclassify. Schools can choose to play up classifications but not down. Here is the mid cycle reclassification info on TSSAA.org When Memphis East changed from a regular public school to an "all-optional" school in 2017 the would've dropped to A but chose to stay in AAA in basketball (baseball, and softball) Penny was still coaching there and with the players they had they would've beaten A teams by 40 and slept walked to the championship. Other Memphis schools stayed in their classifications (mostly in basketball) until the next reclassification cycle. Of course this is the same time that a 4th class was added basketball.
