MBA?

Look what happened when they traveled west to face some of the top AAA teams. They are still licking their wounds. BGA is lucky they weren't down there or their results would have been similar.

NEXT!

u cant put mba down cause of one terrible weekend, nd bga should definately be up there with 3 of the best midfielders in the state nd jason bristol in the defense, they r a team not easily beat, i truly believe that they would easily give brentwood a run for their money nd definately hendersonville

Thanks. Yeah, you guys are a very good team too. Should be right up there with the best. And people seem to forget that we already beat Hendersonville.

Brentwood, lets not even begin to talk about people trying to compare teams to them, they dont play anybody, they might be solid, but maybe if they played good teams on a consistent basis they should be mentioned, BGA would beat Brentwood by a goal or 2.

Agreed, I beleive that the defense of BGA would neutralize the offensive power of the bruins. The game would be won by BGA in the mid. I think that many teams have played a tougher schedule than the Bruins. Too bad we will not see these teams that are less than 10 miles apart play, what a great game that would be.

Yeah, over the past few years they played both BGA and Ryan, why not this year?

I don't know about Ryan, but for the last two years Brentwood has not wanted to schedule BGA. Our coach always tries to let us play them and Franklin (two good close rivals), but recently Brentwood has backed out.

so bruinsoccer you sayin that cbhs, mccallie, father ryan, knox webb, MUS, BGA arent some of the best ,these are all great teams, who can play or beat abybody in the state, they are automatic in DII, I belive that BGA, was ranked 2nd in are region in the national rankings, with CBHS number 1 and number 2 in the nation records dont always show talent and strength of a team

Totally agree with you on this. DII soccer is the strongest in the state...however you forgot to mention another very strong team and that is Baylor. They play McCallie tomorrow for the Region II East Championship. McCallie and Baylor are rated 1 and 2 in Chattanooga and Chattanooga has some good teams from A AA but the Red and Blue are the class of Chattanooga. I think Bruinsoccer has a problem with private school soccer or he is not very informed.

Trust me, jon26, few are as informed as I am. I'm sorry if private school folks think I'm picking on them (I haven't done that since I was in high school).

You said "DII soccer is the strongest in the state". I'm sure you are excited because Baylor is having a good year.

Sorry, but I don't blurt out statements without being able to back them up like that. I have seen BGA, MBA, Father Ryan, Baylor this season. I also have to look at the scores. I haven't seen McCallie, but I know that neither Baylor nor McCallie could beat Father Ryan this season.

I said that only one DII school is in the top 5 or 6 teams in the state. Obviously, that team is CBHS. I didn't say that there weren't good private school teams. In fact, I think Baylor or BGA could pull the upset and win the whole thing. I'd include McCallie in that as well.

After the top 5 or 6 DII teams, there aren't a whole lot of good teams. Now that, my friend, is a fact. Teams 6-10 in DI are much better than teams 6-10 in DII.

Who's next? This is fun.

Webb beat CAK and science hill , thats a pretty respectable private school there. Also there are lots more public schools in the state then private so thats an advantage in depth of good teams, but DII i think has the two best atleast , And you right baylor is another good private school, having a great year

    • Understand the young thing.  I was one of those.  Barely 17 when I graduated from high school and started college.  But redshirting for athletic purposes isn't doing them any favors, in my opinion.  Life isn't always going to be fair.

    • The Girls Basketball team I am a part of played for a gold ball this season. One of the biggest differences in the sports is that there is no field prep/maintenance in basketball.   Our baseball is successful and play 30 games in the regular season as well. All of the teams dedicate A LOT of time in preparing for their next opponent.
    • Im pretty excited about the new rules that NFHS voted to adopt. Does anyone know if this will take place in Tennessee starting this year? I think I heard/read somewhere that the TSSAA bi-laws say they have to mirror what the NFHS does, and when the NFHS offered the current weight classes as options, TSSAA didn’t adopt them until NFHS made them official. Did NFHS make these changes official starting next season or will it be similar to the weight classes where TSSAA doesn’t change what they are doing until it is  an officially official part of the NFHS rule book? It’ll be interesting to see if it is rolled out for the new TSSAA Middle School season and I saw a post where the youth wrestling in TN was going to vote on adopting it as well.  I’ll pray for all the youth coaches that will have to shoulder the confusion from all those crazy #### parents who already think they know the rules more than everyone else  . Imagine the first time their kid is taken down and a 3 goes up on the scoreboard or their kid gets pinned with only one point of contact in the cylinder. Their heads might explode. i kid, I kid. Sort of. I’m surprised ride time was brought down with all the other changes. I know some argue that it promotes stalling on top, but its been an official scoring method in college forever, so I figure it must be doing something right. Do any of you think that’ll ever be implemented?
