They still play football in Cocke County? Who knew

Yes. We do. lol.

Actually, Cocke County may surprise some folks this year and next year. They've got a good nucleus coming back, a pretty good transfer QB, only problem appears to be defensive secondary and running game (not one regular TB returns).

Combine that with a new coach with a fresh philsophy - that has the kids excited to play for this coach and respecting him. Also has the community pretty excited about the season ahead, as well.

Not only is coach doing good things on the field, he's busting his butt off the field to improve facilities and dress the program up.

We will see what happens, but imho - if David Crawford can't get it (that being getting CC back to respectability) done, then I'd venture as to say no one can.

Coach Crawford is a good one and will work hard. Good luck

    • Wanted to see if all of you would lift up Kyle James family in prayer. Kyle was one of the best wrestlers to ever come out of Soddy Daisy and as some of you know he lost his house a few weeks ago and now his family and friends mourns his passing. Not sure if any of you were around in early 2000’s when Kyle was wrestling at Soddy, but he was a 3 time state champ and a Fargo AA along with going to Colorado to train to make the Olympic team. That goal was never reached due to medical issues, but he was an amazing wrestler and his family is as good as gold. If you were around at that time and have any pictures of Kyle, please go onto Alexy Winesburgh FB page and post. Thanks, Doug Benton
    • My opinion the 8 teams will be-  Greenback, Wartburg, Gordonsville, Jo Byrns, Eagleville, Bruceton, Dresden, and South Fulton. Gordonsviile is probably the favorite but I wont say it will be an easy road. With the right draw any of the 8 could win it.
    • I understand Gibson Co. will be announced tomorrow with a familiar name. Not sure about So. Gibson.
    • A huge addition to the staff today! Former Hardin Valley legend and Richmond College running back Aaron Dykes was announced as the running backs coach. Rushed for over 3,000 yards at HVA, with 35 total touchdowns. I loved watching in Hardin Valley. I can’t believe he’s at Bearden now. I know he was trying to get a HVA job, I don’t know what happened there and how he ended up at Bearden, but I'm glad he’s here and believe he will be teaching art class as well! What a good get for the staff!!
    • Thoughts? Gordonsville won it last year with a sophomore pitcher and returned almost everybody. Can anyone beat them?
